“I think football’s making a tragic mistake,” he said.

The president noted that a “tiny percentage” of people with coronavirus got seriously ill, stressing that this included primarily the elderly rather than healthy athletes.

“These football players are very young, strong people. Physically they’re in extraordinary shape, so they’re not going to have a problem,” Trump said...

“When I went to that game it was incredible. I went to a couple of them,” he said...

“It’s brilliant football. It’s great football, the atmosphere. There’s nothing like it”.

Let's not kid ourselves: modern football linemen fall into the high risk category in multiple ways.

He's a genius for doing these kinds of interviews. They let him talk without interrupting him with stupid questions.

The one with barstool sports was a good one too.

He's speaking directly to the silent majority unfiltered

Obese, yes. But do they have hypertension, diabetes 2, etc?

Pretty sure obesity has been singled out as the bigger risk without the other issues.

Check your meds.

They're thick. Not unhealthy. You think every emaciated beanpole is the picture of health? Check out a meth addict, for example.

Ever watch Charles Barkley play ball? There are many healthy body types. Not just one.

Even being big they are in good shape cardio wise. Heart and lungs should be good or else they couldn’t last a whole game.

That's Ok, they wear facemasks that cover their nose and mouth. Should be fine.

Not in teenagers/early twenties. And don’t give me “but there was that one girl” in a world of billions.

But this is what the left IS going to do no matter what. The party that is for violence, destruction, death, and abortion on command is really worried about COVID. Trust us.

The obese playing college football at this level fall into the healthy fat category. Healthy fat is subcutaneous fat. It’s the obese with visceral fat that is the problem. These “obese” college athletes do not have this problem.

Not while they are in regular season mode.

It's after their playing days are done when they truly become high risk.

And, your point is?

They are at risk whether they play or not.

Lol, no. What "multiple ways?"

Because they're bigger guys? I think you underestimate just how in shape those guys are underneath all that, and it's arguable that their lungs and heart function at a higher level than smaller players. Just because someone is "large" it doesn't mean they're unhealthy in any way.

Those guys still have to be agile and strong, and are literal professional athletes. Not a big football guy are ya?
