The Trump campaign is demanding that former Attorney General Jeff Sessions stop linking himself to President Trump in his run for his old Alabama Senate seat.
In a letter sent to Sessions on Tuesday, the Trump campaign emphasized that the president's support in the race is behind former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville and that it is "delusional" for the former head of the Justice Department under Trump to promote himself as the president's biggest supporter.
The letter, first reported by The New York Times, came after the Trump campaign learned that Sessions had mentioned Trump 22 times in a mailer distributed to voters.
"The Trump Campaign has learned that your U.S. Senate campaign is circulating mailers like the one I have enclosed, in which you misleadingly promote your connections to and 'support' of Trump," campaign aide Michael Glassner wrote in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Hill.

Sessions should recuse himself from this election.

If Trump is going to send letters like this to Sessions who was the first Senator to support him in 2016, he needs to send that to RINOs that are obviously not Trump supporters and don't support the agenda he ran on in 2016 and still invoke his name for their campaigns.
Sessions has a first amendment right to campaign how he wants to and say whatever he wants to say and sending cease and desist letters against a legal campaign tactic is unAmerican, anti-freedom and just looks petty as hell.

Sessions was Trump's one-time Attorney General, so he was in fact linked to Trump.....

quote:Like who exactly? Who got caught? Graham still has a brown nose can't denounce him yet. Trump is using him like they all use each other; Graham will get his from his voters one fine day when there isn't a risk of losing to a D. We don't want to end up stuck with a turncoat corrupt POS like Burr. Burr should be the new word for being Cantored but he is retiring...

Sessions went along with RR to possibly claim the 25th amendment against Trump; and recused himself to shiv Trump. Sessions played the part of supporter quite well just like I am nearly sure Graham is doing.
What ever happened to Grahams SpyGate committee questioning?

Has Sessions ever answered as to why he had Huber sitting on his hands?

This was hard to follow.
My mind is still spinning.

It's not a new political tactic, in fact it has has even been done on the democrat side as well.
From the Ny Times article on this...
quote:
And trying to create the impression of an endorsement, or support, of a politician popular with one’s own party, when one hasn’t actually earned it, is a tactic that candidates in both parties use often. Most recently, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who is running for president, ran a television ad with a voice-over from President Barack Obama that seemed to imply that Mr. Obama was throwing his support to Mr. Sanders. Mr. Obama has not endorsed any candidate in the presidential race.
“They want somebody who is going to fight for them. And they will find it in Bernie,” Mr. Obama says in the ad, without context. “That’s right, feel the Bern.” The ad rankled former Obama aides, but none of them went so far as to send Mr. Sanders a cease and desist letter.

Reality: He actually does have those rights. There's nothing that the Trump campaign can do to stop that.

If Trump wants to blame someone who had the most to do with the Mueller witch hunt happening, he needs to look no further than this picture that showcases a gigantic disaster that no one forced him to do.

This is some CNN level spin. Most of you are just as biased and dishonest as the people you hate. You change your positions on a whim based on whether Trump changes his positions, just like liberals. You blatantly misrepresent the truth, take things out of context and refuse to admit that you're wrong.
You've all become GOPe, even though you think you're fighting the establishment.

promote himself as the president's biggest supporter.
Not quite the same thing, is it?

They're a good reminder of why I will never ever be loyal to a politician even if I vote for them. Will never be a sycophant for them.
In politics, loyalty should be a one way street with politicians being loyal to the voters, not the other way around.
I may be a Trump voter but if he endorses someone I believe to be a fraud, I'm not still not supporting that fraud.

Right.
Even when I was bashing Sessions's recusal mistake as AG, I never doubted his immigration credentials and often said that the only thing he was good for is immigration.
And that's why I support his return to the senate because we need more immigration hawks in the Senate.

First, the Gump GOP tried to send Roy freakin’ Moore to DC, and now they want to send a damned football coach rather than a solid, experienced, GOP Senator.
GOP or not, Gumps gonna Gump.

Honest take. This race is Over. I would gladly vote for sessions if he won the nomination but he will Not. Corona probably killed any chance he had although he was probably still going to lose anyway.
