I mean, we could always decide not to have a trillion dollar military budget. What's the rest of NATO going to do about it?

The Cold War was over when the USSR collapsed. NATO does keep the nations of Europe from invading each other as they have done so often in history, but there is no need for a large American presence in Europe any longer.

He certainly isn’t wrong at all. Totally leaving though would require a Congressional vote I do believe. We can’t get Congress to agree on much these days. So this is just talk and not happening. The best thing to do and maybe a more effective and better tactic anyway would be to reposting troops into the countries that do take its NATO responsibilities seriously. Probably won’t be very many but it’s something that is doable. Also totally pulling out of Europe could create a vacuum that China could end up filling. Europe is followers not leaders. Their militaries are weak and falling apart. They might try getting cozier to China because China and Russia are allies and if China doesn’t want Europe attacked by Russia then they will say the word and Russia would have to back off. Definitely something to think about. We don’t want to give up any ground to China.

Who is forcing us to spend 1T?
Posted on 7/3/26 at 12:28 am to FLTech
UK gdp 4.26 trillion... 2% of that is 85.2 billion. They went above the requirement
france came up shy, by around 5 billion, italy 5.5 shy, and Poland is right at fricking 4%... making their inclusion here quite fricking retarded.

Most of the charts Trump makes his decision on are full of BS that makes no sense. Nothing more than surface level markers to get his base fired up.
I’ll never get over those Trade Deficit charts.

After awhile it just comes across as an ongoing PR campaign.
Everyone who supports DJT admin ALREADY knew the entire system had gone off the rails, that’s a major reason why they support DJT in the first place.

Oh because no one was interested in cleaning up a mess that we unilaterally (with Israel) started?
How is that a NATO failing?

Can’t bother him that much because he’s asking to push the defense budget up to $1.5T next year
