SFP and I have been making the point repeatedly that the inflation now may just be the COVID money washing through and we haven't even felt the effects of Biden's spending.

I hope you understand the role of the Federal Reserve and it's relationship with congress and how it maintains interest rates (Fed's Fun Rate) and uses that as a tool to slow or speed up inflation.

There is no link. The Federal Reserve balance sheet tells the story.

Generally speaking the antidote to inflation is productivity and we measure productivity through real GDP.

But here is the deal. 2% growth with mostly government spending is not as an effective antidote to inflation as 2% growth without government spending, i.e., organic economic growth through labor and extracting value from natural resources.

That could be said more. East coast is more expensive to live so higher prices would hurt

Bottom line, in this political climate it is the right message.

If people dont understand all the issues from illegal immigration at this point they are surely a lost cause and not even worth a breath of conversation.

Trump lit the fire with COVID bucks, Biden poured gas on it with BBB and "Inflation Reduction" Act.

Trump didn’t have much of a choice. Dems were willing to shutdown the economy and keep it closed to destroy Trump.

So you think the IRA spending had no impact?

A lot of things impacted inflation. One being Trump's spending and printing money. To think that just went away is naive.

The entire world is experiencing inflation. It's complex.

Did Biden policies speed it up? Almost definitely. Plenty of blame to go around.

completely shifts the conversation away from Covid and directly onto the inflation caused by Harris
