He probably feels that didn't have much of a choice given that attendance was going to be suppressed by the outbreak and the low attendance was going to be a major story (and attendees infected, etc.)

Tons of posters on this board were screaming that all trump needed was the RNC and debates to beat joe.
With this cancellation and also signals he isn't doing anymore in person rallies.
Hard to change the narrative and own messaging in the best Trump way when you can't get in front of the people.
His campaign thinking telerallies willl be effective is a joke.

I'm a realist. He literally is the best when he is campaigning and getting his message across directly to the people.
His Tulsa and Mt Rushmore speeches were incredible. I've stated if he had a setting to repeat them each week now until November he'd win.
He did 130 something rallies in 2016 now he'll have only 2. The media isn't doing him any favors but they all covered his rallies.
This is a huge blow to his campaign.
