Trump abortion rule deals 'devastating blow' to Planned Parenthood, group says

But the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, with two judges appointed by Trump, rejected the plea.

Ahead of a Tuesday HHS conference, the administration formally notified clinics that it will begin to enforce the ban on abortion referrals as well as a requirement that clinics maintain separate finances from facilities that provide abortions. Another requirement, that abortion facilities cannot be under the same roof as family planning clinics, will take effect next year.

"We will not stop fighting for all those across the country in need of essential care," Wen added.
But HHS Secretary Alex Azar told "Fox News @ Night" the administration is just enforcing the law already on the books about abortion.

The pro-life movement, which opposes abortion, celebrated the Trump administration's move and the court's decision.

"Ending the connection between abortion and family planning is a victory for common-sense health care," Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life, said in a statement.
Title X serves about 4 million women annually through independent clinics, about 40 percent operated by Planned Parenthood, and the program provides about $260 million a year in grants to the clinics.

I hope he can get back on track with new appointees. The subpoena flurry has slowed him down a lot with getting confirmations through.

Would love to hear the loons that claimed we hadn't previously subsidized abortion with federal dollars dare to say they have a problem with this.

If PP just stopped performing abortions, they'd get all the funding they wanted for those other things.
ETA: I still wouldn't want them to get funded, but they probably would anyway.

So they can go get those things at another low cost wellness center. PP isnt the only clinic that does this and this stupid line is getting old. It's a capitalist country. We need other clinics that dont do abortions but serve the poor. Simple.

The hidden secret is PP does these services at low cost by covering the loss through abortions. But they push people to have abortions to make more money.
I’d fully support more funding to cover PP services if they stopped abortions alltogether except in EXTREME circumstances signed off by a physician stating its necessary for the health of the mother
