I've also noticed the past several months shortages on car engine oil availability at Walmart, O'Reilly's, and Autozone stores.

I've been getting coupons for oil changes from a dealership every month since buying a new vehicle, at least six months in a row.

This month's coupon sale was $20 more than last month's.

If you have a diesel car, start buying methanol.

I got cut off at the gas pump at $75 last night at a Shell in Memphis. I usually buy gas at Kroger...is getting cut off at the pump something new or have I been missing it at Kroger?

It is hard to determine. Some pumps only authorize $75 when you swipe your card.
You can usually reswipe and get more gas

DEF is in short supply also. Flying J or Loves has been stock piling it.
JetDawg, was it you that posted the article about DEF consists of 30% urea, which is also used in fertilizer. Much of the urea we get is from China and Russia.

They are crippling our transportation and crops and farmers.

That was the limit per purchase they allowed with a debit card. Just swipe again and start a new purchase.

I believe this is due to higher pricing and establishments curtailing exposure to fraudulent activity

It was a company gas card, but you have to enter a code so this is probably correct.

NYC has almost 9 million people. If there is no diesel to deliver food, medicine, etc, how does a city this size adequately care for 9 million people?

I went on a long road trip last week and there were still a frick ton of trucks on the road.

Not saying that means this isn’t an issue, but there was no shortage of big rigs running on the highway during my drive.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), which is required by the EPA in diesel fuel, is made with carbamide (urea). Urea is also used in the production of fertilizer.

India is #1 in production and Russia is #2

With the shortages in Fertilizer and DEF, Diesel is gonna get tight.

Add to it that the percentage of Diesel that you get from a barrel of crude.

I remember running into this, but it was $100, back in 2008 trying to fill my Avalanche.
