Due to hearsay rules, will any of the “witnesses” which have thus far testified even be able to give testimony at Senate?

If Law and Order has taught me anything its that hearsay is objectionable and not allowed.

John Roberts will preside over the presumptive Senate trial, so frankly all bets are off.

The special 'Will I Still be Invited to DC Insider Cocktail Parties Rules of Federal Procedure' will be in play.

I'm not a lawyer, but I believe the senate will adopt the federal rules of evidence during an impeachment trial. Which according to rule 802 would render hearsay inadmissible.

I am not a lawyer but can tell you something about Senate rules.

The rules and procedures used in courts of law do not apply to Senate impeachment proceedings. The rules are what the Senate decides they are.

True, but I believe McConnell has already said he would adopt the Federal rules of Evidence.

IF the FRE are applied, admissibility of each statement will be addressed separately. There are many exceptions to the general rule, and many of them will apply in this case. Example being admission of a party opponent.
