Thank you to all the men that sacrificed their lives to allow us the freedoms to do what we want.

Most of the Soy Boy’s don’t even realize how important that day was!

I’ve been told that ANTIFA are the same as these young men.

Just imagine if the country devolves as much in the next 76 years as the last 76 years

My grandfathers B-26 dropped bombs on Cherbourg. He survived 72 missions and getting shot down over France. Thank God he survived lest I would not be here!

My other Grandpa piloted a C-47 over the Hump from India to China.

God Bless those guys! I could not imagine what they went through.

Words are inadequate to describe their courage.

I wish I knew how to post pics here — I’ve tried and never succeeded.

My grandfather was a Navy pilot on DDay over Normandy in a British spitfire (he was one of a few to fly with the RAF).

Due to the divorce of my mom and father and due to other circumstances, I didn’t get to know my grandfather as well as I wish I had been able to. Biggest regret of my 50 years.

I remember asking him one time if he was ever scared and he thought about it and said “no, but maybe a little concerned — the English people were really nice and gave us tea and cookies”.

Truly the greatest generation.

(ETA there is a poster here who was actually his home health PT — how that for pretty cool?? I think it was ClarkGriswold???)

I'd bet that our commie protestors vandalize the WW2 memorial again to celebrate it.

D-Day Plus 20

Walter Cronkite and Dwight Eisenhower return to Normandy.

Fascinating first hand account of the planning, strategies, and obsticles that went into the day.

I watched it a couple of weeks ago. And recommend it highly.

I upvoted you for the first time. Some things transcend politics, like paying tribute to the heroes who fought for our nation.

Though not often remembered by date, my Grandfather took off from the deck of the Enterprise 78 years ago yesterday in an SBD with Wade McClusky and VB-6.

My FIL landed on Omaha Beach at Point Du Hoc with the 2nd Rangers. He miraculously made ashore, scaled the cliffs to the top where only a fraction of his boat load made it. The rest were either butchered by the Nazis, or drowned. He told my wife and I his harrowing story right before he died in 1998. RIP Pawpaw.
