Thoughts on how the “3rd party candidates” will affect the election?

Seemed like 2016 had several well known 3rd party options which, in some cases, pealed off 5-10% of votes, which it is usually assumed, largely hurt the republican candidate.

This year there is no one of significance that will be an option. Thoughts on how that might impact the election? I think it helps Trump personally and in a tight race might be what pushes him over 270.

But yet 3, 4, 5% of independent voters will still show their ignorance of politics by casting their rebellious vote for someone who will have no chance in hell in shaping our government for the future.

Most people I know who voted Libertarian are voting Trump. The only one I know voting Libertarian or so he claims is someone I served with in the Army who is a Liberal. I think most people are aware this is a pick a side election. Sure you will have the oddballs and retards that vote for other parties ,but this year it will likely be statistically insignificant. The Libertarians had a shot in 2016 to really become a threat to the Establishment and they fricked up big time by choosing a retard and a Clinton lackey.

The Libertarians biggest problem is that they choose to only attempt to be significant only six months before an election during a four year term of a president. You never hear a peep out of them the other three and a half years. No one is willing to step up with a ground game for them. Perot was the last one, a third party candidate, to try and do so. Sanders missed his chance in becoming relevant as a third party candidate because he needed that DNC money to keep him in the spotlight.

The reason the presidential debate commission has so much power. After Perot threw the election for Clinton, both “sides” got together to ensure there would never be a strong third party challenger.

and here's your proof:

The CPD was established in 1987 by the chairmen of the Democratic and Republican Parties to "take control of the presidential debates". The commission was staffed by members from the two parties and chaired by the heads of the Democratic and Republican parties, Paul G. Kirk and Frank Fahrenkopf.

Since the first debate, I have seen and heard more people get on the Jo Jorgensen train. Will people actually vote for her? Who knows. But she’s definitely gotten a boost over the last few weeks.

I will also say frick the Libertarian Party as they are Democrats in sheep’s clothing.

I can only speak from my experience. I’m the chairman of the local libertarian party in my area.

We have never had so many people reaching out to us and asking us about our candidate. Far more than in 2016. I don’t know what this means in terms of votes, but most of them have been Trump voters. But some Obama and Clinton voters as well. Most women. And the ages range across all ages. But most are in their 30s and early 40s.

If you put a gun to my head and made me bet, I’d bet the LP ticket outperforms 2016. And we may hit that magical 5% threshold that will really bring us into the national scene.

That will be silent for the next three and a half years after the election. It's their m-o.

I will happily vote for the Libertarian candidate again this cycle like I have every cycle since 1992. During that time, both Rs and Ds have lead us into endless foreign conflicts, crushed us with debt, helped erode our civil liberties, and dramatically increased the size and scope of the federal gov’t.

This gov’t just oversaw the largest transfer of wealth in the history of the world all the while crushing small businesses and the middle class with this Corona Virus response. Any notion that I ever had for ever voting for an R or D has been permanently erased. I sleep very well at night knowing that my vote in no way helped “shaped our gov’t for this future”.

FWIW, government, no matter the initial behind the party, shapes your future. It's what governments do my friend.

And then make sure they let everyone know they did it

LiberHank has pledged to vote JoJo. Not surprising, as he prefers a Biden/Pelosi government.

Your holier-than-thou political attitude has always been a political failure. You always have the answers but never the gall, as in doing something about it.

Will be voting LP.

Normally, I only share this when people ask who I am voting for.

Liberals think libertarians are psychopaths. Conservatives think we are liberals.

We have no friends.

I donate annual to the Libertarian Party. I volunteer locally with the state chapter of the Libertarian Party. Short of running for office myself, not sure what more I can do. As I get older and shite keeps getting worse and worse, I may have to run for office.

It amazes me that as we spiral deeper and deeper into debt, the vast majority of the American public argues over which tune Nero is playing as Rome burns. fricking amazing.
