I’m sorry, we’re in an emergency and I’m not sure if we have enough time to even wait for 2024. Trump is certainly a risk, and hell the Democrats and Neocons may impeach him a third time this time with the 2/3 Senate majority just so he can’t run for office. DeSantis is the best pick.

Trump needs to be what Obama is to apple sauce for brains. Let Trump pull the strings, let DeSantis get it done.

Obama didn’t even do that for Biden until the last possible moment.

DeSantis is more conservative than Trump but smarter, tough with more savvy, and with a clear, demonstrable record of success.

Reasons 2-6 admit that the 5 year smear campaign worked.

Negative aura
Baggage
Not polished
Polarizing/dem hate

All that driven by media spin and lies. Depressing

Yes, and he doesn’t have Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump whispering in his ear.

Yes. Unfortunately, the things the media throw out don’t have to be true to stain.

Agree. Desantis is the future of our party.

Bold. Intelligent. Listens to science but not fear mongering science. He cares about the environment. Does not let anyone lie about him and stands up to the media. Really like this guy. He proved himself one of if not the best state leaders in the country during the pandemic.

but if you are honest, there was an unnatural hatred of Trump that DeSantis could never elicit.

No, it will be MUCH worse. Hell, Trump was a democrat all his life. DeSantis will be the reincarnation of Satan. Hitler would be too soft a personae.

We are not going to have to pick. They will figure that out beforehand.

I would imagine that Trump knows he would have DeSantis' ear so Trump probably wouldn't want to put up with all the bullshite again anyway.

i think it has to be both to be honest... many who i speak to about this usually say the same two things..

1 Trump is 100% trusted by conservatives, he walked through the coals and never flinched... as youve heard all your life, trust is everything... People dont know if they can truly trust Desantis yet. (and yes, i really like Desantis)

2. Trump has done it already, many believe he wont make the same mistakes again and will be twice as effective in his second term. (knowing who to trust, who to get rid of, and procedures he can use.)

Trust and Experience (good experience) go further than what Desantis has to offer. Trump would get 72 Million(of the 75M) votes tommorrow, and prob some idiot dems who regret voting biden.

I will say this... I wish that there was a way (no chance) that trump would run and have Desantis do all the work (be highly visable) but we all know trumps ego could never allow that.. so id settle for Trump as president and DeSantis as Vice president.

If DeSantis does get the nomination, he will undoubtedly have to pick Noem as his running mate to run against Kamala (Joe doesnt finish the term) and yes i know she went south after the title 9 issue but i dont know of any other woman that has that type of success... maybe a private sector CEO?

Many Republican baby boomers voted for Biden and that’s just fact. His abrasive tone, name calling, etc while popular with other generations didn’t take with conservative boomers.

In my immediate family and friends who are considered Boomers I don’t know of one who voted Biden. I know there were Boomers who voted Biden but most were middle to upper middle class, college educated/indoctrinated loons. So as a percentage of Boomers voting Trump vs Biden I would guesstimate Trump pulled +60% of the Boomer vote, maybe higher.

1) Age. Though Trump is in good health and has seemingly inexhaustible energy, he will be 78 in 2024. For me, that’s too old to start a term.

2) Too much baggage. Though most of the things Trump was accused of have turned out to be false, with many of the citizens, he has too many perceived negative incidents attributed to him. DeSantis would start with a mostly clean slate.

3) DeSantis wouldn’t have the same degree of negative aura as Trump, and some of the Dem voters who want nothing Trump, but who hate the present direction of the Dem party, would vote for DeSantis

4) DeSantis wouldn’t generate the same voter turnout with Dems as Trump, where scores of usually apathetic voters turned out to simply cast a no vote against Trump. A lower voter turnout would help the Rep. candidate

5) I think DeSantis has a better chance of carrying Florida than Trump in 2024. Trump had a close race winning Florida in 2020, and It could be even closer in 2024. DeSantis is very popular in the state, and his handling of covid and the economy would almost assure the state going to the Republicans.

6) Lastly, I think DeSantis is more polished. And though he is a staunch conservative and not ashamed of it, his delivery is not quite as abrasive as Trumps and more eloquent.

I’m sure I could think of more, but that’s a good start. Let the cuck accusations commence.

And, if DeSantis gets the GOP nomination the media will continue to lie on him. The issue is really about a lying media that is in collusion with a lying Democratic party. So, if it's Trump or DeSantis we will see more lies and more fake race baiting.

While this should be true, as 2024 comes closer if DeSantis is a potential candidate I expect the media to start hammering him with the same bullshite they hit Trump with. They'll try to tarnish his reputation as much as possible. Hell, there wasn't a stigma around Trump until he suddenly became the frontrunner.

TBH, I'd prefer DeSantis remain Governor of Florida and keep my state free unless something happens that gives me confidence that the Dems won't be able to steal the election again.

I'm fine with either. I'd like to see DeSantis has Vice President for four years with TRUMP then as President for eight years after.

Same here. Desantis and Trump cleaning house, and putting people in place for Desantis' 8 yrs would be a positive. No time to waste to get shite done

His anti-PC message

I loved this ever since Trump came down the escalator. Even when I hated him for (in my then opinion) destroying our chances of winning the election. (glad to be totally wrong on that one - now love the guy)

He did what I had been advocating for over 3 decades. To hell with PC - and anyone who follows it.
