They can stamp the tweet on his head and will still ignore it.

You know, this cuts both ways. In 2016 we said that we should not consider an appointment so close to an election. What’s our position now? It’s “might makes right”, just like Schumer’s.

Why would an opposition party confirm a judge who they have philosophical differences with when I a few months they could possibly confirm a judge that they don’t have those philosophical differences with? In this case, there are no philosophical differences between the suspected nominee and the controlling party in the Senate, so why should they wait to confirm someone they want?

In 2016 the president was not eligible for reelection

And of course if it played to the Dems benefit, the propaganda arm of the DNC, the MSM, would be hammering it home.

I have few liberals on my social media feed, and I'm posting this tweet every time they complain about what the right was saying in 2016.

GTFO with this garbage. I say we play by the rules. The rules state a president nominates and the senate confirms.
The YUGE differences between now and 2016 are as follows:
1. Obama was a lame duck president in 2016, trump is not in 2020
2. In 2016, president Obama was a democrat, the senate was held by the republicans. The senate is not obligated to confirm a president’s nomination, especially the other party’s president’s nomination. The prez in this circumstance must nominate a Compromise candidate if he wants the senate to consider his pick. Obama didn’t compromise. He nominated Merrick garland, a DC leftist, and Mitch McConnell and the Rs chose not to confirm him.
In 2020, the senate and White House are both aligned with the republicans, so the “compromise candidate” and “lame duck” excuses from 2016 ARE NOT RELEVANT
Fill the seat.

you know that this is a political process, and we SHOULD have the votes
not confirming an appointee from t ghb e opposing party and then turning around and pushing your hit through is all part of the game
and it is a game
we need to move forward and do what is in our best inyerests
