Uber establishment pick. Accomplished background obviously and speaks well. He will be to the right on most things but I just have a feeling that when the chips are down, he will go Establishment every time.

I supposed this is the best we can do heading into mid-terms and its better than anything Hillary would put up but I'm not sure how much different than Kennedy he will be.

Just my opinion, flame away.

Do some research. There is a thread here that shows him to the right of everyone but Clarence Thomas. LINK /

Doesn’t matter in theory. He’s not supposed to be political.

I’m glad that he views the constitution as a means to preserve rights that belong to Americans instead of a guideline for prescribing rights that can be taken away.

You have Anthony Kennedy shown as a "liberal" judge on your chart.

Anthony Kennedy is anything but "liberal". On the subject of marriage equality, his ruling was libertarian and most of his rulings have been far to the right.

I agree 100% with the OP.

I am not excited about Kavanagh at all. It seems for whatever reason that Justices become more Liberal once appointed to the Supreme Court. My hunch is he will be every bit the swing vote that Kennedy was. Not at all a reliable Conservative vote whatsoever.

Like the OP, the only consolation is that I know he will not be as activist nutso Leftist as a Hillary Clinton pick would have been.
