It can't be an echo chamber, simply look at the splits in likes vs dislikes, it's nearly even on all the front page Comments lol

Don't bring facts here. We're busy arguing against strawmen.

Going on 8 years waiting for a definition of globalism.

Globalism: multinational companies and MIC dictating trade terms and foreign policy via the office of the president to maximize their benefit.

Nationalism: the chief executive dictating trade and foreign policy to benefit of the majority of the people.

It can get confusing because sometimes policies benefit both.

Straw women naturally have less straw than strawmen. Change my mind.

You'd like me to lock us into only two categories of straw people wouldn't you?!

We both now the amount of straw in straw people is a spectrum whether it's a they/he/she straw person.

I wish more people on the left would actually attempt to engage in discussion on their policies. It’s weird what a rare occurrence that is, and from a lot of the folks screeching ‘muh Echochamber!’

Here’s the problem. When someone does try to engage from a leftward position, they commonly don’t get engaged in debate. They just get called names. That’s what the vast majority do. There are a few that will reasonably debate, but their numbers are so dwarfed by the others that it is not worth it. I’m sorry, but it’s true. I’ve experienced it.

I hear you.

I’m “conservative” by mainstream standards but I also want to test my ideas.

In business, there is usually a designated person to argue against ideas and try to shite on them to find the weak points.

I frequent liberal forums as well as ones like this to get a holistic picture of what’s going on and what people are saying.

Has this affected my own views? Probably, but only because some points made by the “other side” were valid. Is this a bad thing? It didn’t used to be.

I appreciate democrat/liberal perspectives, if for no other reason than I cannot provide it myself.

That’s not what an echo chamber is.

Is TD more conservative than liberal? Absolutely

But all sides are allowed and welcomed to argue their pov and opinions. Many may disagree. Still not an echo chamber

I agree. This is why I go to this board. It gives a really rightward viewpoint. I appreciate that as it is different from mine. I think it shapes my perspective as well. It’s just hard to engage with the insults. It’s not worth it.

This is extremely rare on this board.

The only contributions we get from board leftists are “Trump lied about a helicopter trip and there’s no way I could support a guy who lied about a helicopter trip. Anyone who does that should burn in hell.”

you are literally posting in my Trump Tax Cuts thread where I am being called POS and told that I don't pay taxes and I should live on the street.

doesn't bother me because y'all are betting on the slow horse but I just wanted to take the time to point out your hypocrisy.
