NT: Actually Netanyahu, and his wife for that matter, have spent much of their public lives under scrutiny for corruption and always just barely skate. The last time investigators recommended indictment it cost him the premiership when the country and his party lost confidence in him. Now his Chief of Staff, who was caught red-handed in some shady deals and was facing jailtime, has been testifying against him for the last several months for leniency. And on top of that, his 26yo son, who still lives at home and parties on the taxpayer dole, was recorded suggesting that his father steered lucrative contracts to a family friend and political supporter--which is illegal, even in Jewland.
So I wouldn't say this is just trumped-up persecution.
