You are absolutely correct on this point. However many, if not most, have never set foot on a battlefield or directly led or had interactions with the troups that they look at as only a number in their quest for more power!

I personally had an academy grad LT in my platoon in Nam who only made it into the USNA because his father was a wealthy L.B.J. supporter. He tried to be hard on us saying that this hop was only a stepping stone on his way to the Pentagon. He soon found out he was way over his head. He made his trip home to the States in a black zipper bag two weeks later.

My point is many of our military leaders are disconnected from the average troops they command. You cannot drill into their minds what they know is not right when it comes to defending the country that they believe in.

What about Muslims? Should they be vetting for Muslims?

I mean, embedded domestic Muslims have actually kilt lots of servicemen over the years.
