No chance there is enough republicans to get a nominee confirmed this year.

That's a new precedent that I'd imagine they don't want to set. I mean, what's the cutoff here? What if she died 3 mnths before election? 4? 5?

Is the argument that when Obama was trying to make an appointment that he was a lame duck just prior to he election to not be able to nominate someone for the court?

Republicans should stand on the principle they followed with Scalia’s replacement and hold off until after the election. Stand for something and people will respect it.
