Effort to ban ballot drop boxes fails in Arizona Senate

Some believe the unsupported allegations that thousands of ballots were illegally deposited into drop boxes during the 2020 election.(Arizona's Family)

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — Arizona Senate Republicans who wanted to pass a measure completely banning ballot drop boxes failed to get enough votes for the proposal. They had sought to change a bill that adds video monitoring requirements to drop boxes but fell short of the needed votes.

They call the boxes widely used by voters to return the mail ballots vulnerable to voter fraud despite lack of evidence. Monday’s hour-long debate ended up being in vain because one Republican, Sen. Paul Boyer of Glendale, joined all Senate Democrats in rejecting the measure outright.

The original House measure would have completely banned unmonitored drop boxes, but it did not have the votes to pass so it was watered down to allow counties to set up video monitoring where practical.

About 90% of Arizona voters cast early ballots, either through the mail, at early voting sites or by using drop boxes put in place by county election officials. Those boxes are most important in the week before an election when there is doubt a mail-in ballot will reach the local election department in time.

hese a'holes are just running out the clock for preservation of ballots which is 1.5-2 years.

The ballots themselves don't matter when you get charged for trafficking your arse off on camera with 2 dozen of them.

Just heard on the radio here in Phoeniz the AZ Senate just rejected a bill to MONITOR drop box locations. Republican controlled senate. Nothing will come of any of this.

It was a 14-15 vote, and the senator that had introduced an amendment that would have outright banned dropboxes cast the deciding NO vote...because why? Why would you not vote for monitoring dropboxes when you had earlier tried to amend the bill to outright ban them?

Hopefully they've had their evidence for a while because the bad actors were given a generous 19 months to cover their tracks.

Remember when Georgia shredded ballots, wholly illegally, within hours of the "results"? And nobody did anything about it?

The machine is running fully in their favor right now.

This is why you're a simpleton, Timmy. Pay attention, because this is very easy logic to grasp.

They cheated bigly in the last election. Enough so that they have convinced enough Americans that a dude running a campaign from his basement in Delaware earned a record number of votes -- enough people believe that shite that we still haven't had an uprising to put the bullshite to bed, which is amazing.

Now, fast forward 2 year. Very important midterms. Low and behold, here comes monkeypox!! Holy shite! Some countries are already moving to compulsory quarantines for the next very conviently timed virus that Bill Gates warned us about -- again.

Now, if you can't see how not addressing the previous election before focusing on the next fraud election is important, you're a fricking idiot.

They're going to cheat this one too and if recent history is any indicator, they can trot out a 15 year old cocker spaniel mix with cataracts and win elections.

NO!!! WE DEAL WITH 2020. PERIOD.

It is about damn time that the righteous begin fighting back. We have had innocent, conscientious witnesses and election workers homes raided and equipment confiscated just for reporting on suspicious election activities.

The left and establishment crooks were ready to pounce. It is good to see someone stand up and use the law in a just way to get the truth and some justice.

There has been frick little pushback from officeholders on the right too. Seems like everyone in an elected position is happy with selection, rather than election.

Of course they are. They were all selected themselves.

Because it failed to have them banned, does it not make sense if you are going to have them to monitor them?
