I was referencing this one:
I don't think any of those George Floyd rioters were charged with that, were they?
quote:
The felony offense was 18 USC 1512(c)
quote:
(c)Whoever corruptly—
(1)alters, destroys, mutilates, or conceals a record, document, or other object, or attempts to do so, with the intent to impair the object’s integrity or availability for use in an official proceeding; or
(2)otherwise obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding, or attempts to do so,
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.

Of the 300 charged, how many were held without bail?
There’s a lot of tap-dancing there. 300 charged and only 120 dispositions. That means charges were likely dropped for 180 of them before they went to trial. How many J6 people were charged and had their charges dropped?
Now compare the charges that received jail time.

In Portland, Oregon — where demonstrations, many turning violent, occurred nightly for months after a white Minneapolis police officer killed Floyd — about 60 of the roughly 100 cases that were brought have been dismissed, court records show.

3.5 years is a small price to pay to become an absolute legend.

I don't think they had the ability to be charged with this, in all fairness. In the federal system, sentencing isn't given much discretion. That's part of the 80s/90s "tough on crime" era legislation that warped our CJ system beyond belief. That's why possession of 5g of crack had a mandatory sentence above what this guy got for a much more serious crime.

It’s weird that his lawyer thought he could get less than the mandatory sentence.

You are both right. This mentally ill dude who is an actor as his career, was coopted by several psyops from "unknown" (likely FBI) agents. The people there pushing the action were agents. The police moved the barriers. Everything for the last 20 years leading up until viking dude crossed the threshold has been intricately planned and executed by elements within out Nation who wish their faction to rule.
Many of these psyops that weve all been victim to have valid segments that are meant to cover the validity of the rest of it. Pizzagate is real, the election was rigged, and Frazzledrip is but one piece of a much larger and more sinister puzzle. It may never be uncovered, unless we are lucky enough to be administered direct intervention from higher powers. One can hope.

Well the guidelines are just guidelines post-2005 (IIRC) but in reality the courts rarely differ much from them.
I have no idea who his lawyer is or why he advised to take the plea. I can't comment on that or his strategy.

No sane person would travel to DC and dress up like him. Now he gets to sit in prison for 3.5 years and reflect on his unhealthy political obsessions (Trump worship) and figure out a way to deal with his mental illnesses.

What kind of shite representation did he have? At most he should have been released with credit for time served and a $5,000 fine.
Trespassing on the U.S. Capitol
Federal law provides misdemeanor and felony penalties for trespassing acts occurring in Capitol buildings and on Capitol grounds. These acts range from unlawful entry to discharging weapons.
A person who commits the following acts faces up to SIX MONTHS imprisonment and a $5000 FINE.
enters or remains on the floor or in the gallery of the U.S. Senate or House chambers without authorization
obstructs or impedes passage through or within the Capitol building or grounds
damages or destroys property in Capitol buildings or on Capitol grounds, or
assaults an individual in a Capitol building or on Capitol grounds.
The penalties increase to a class E felony—punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine—for the following violations involving weapons, force, or violence:
carrying, having readily accessible, discharging, or transporting any firearm, dangerous weapon, or explosive on in Capitol buildings or on Capitol grounds, or
with force or violence, entering or remaining on the floor of either chamber.
The potential imprisonment doubles if the violation occurs in any area cordoned off or restricted due to the presence of the President, Vice President, President-elect, or Vice President-elect.

I know. I was being flip. Point is, as I understand it, that statue was designed for actions of government officials and, before 1/6, was never even contemplated as one that might apply to private citizens protesting (even very stupidly) legislative bodies to the point that they might have to postpone actions.

Only an answer a lawyer could give.

Meanwhile, if you're a BLM protester then you can commit arson on a police station and have your charges dismissed.
