USMC Welcomes First Female Infantry Platoon Leader

On past deployments with Marines, I would hear them tout the Corps as 'the men's department' of the Navy. I always wondered how they could so easily cast-aside their female teammates who had also earned the right to serve, but Marines were never known as the 'thinkers'...

Well now it's official; the USMC has their first female infantry platoon leader, and I'm sure many more will follow.

The only gripes I hear about women serving along-side men usually come from those who never served in the military, or even the Air Force.

Do you have any thoughts on how this affects the future of the USMC?

I still cast them aside.

Well be almost as bad as the Army.

Also that woman will be broken before she makes Captain.

Yeah, this shite is going to end in disaster.

Women should not be in the military in any capacity period.

Did she qualify under the men's standard? If so, I don't have an issue. However, I seriously doubt she did that.

Here’s the thing, the USMC told the civilian leadership “DO NOT frickING DO THIS”

And the piece of shite Obama SecDef. appointee Ash Carter said I don’t give a frick, integrate. I don’t care what the data says on it, the data is wrong.

Good luck getting a bunch of males to take her seriously also.

One three things will happen.

1 - shite will hit the fan and she'll fail miserably
2 - shite will hit the fan and she'll do what she's been taught
3 - shite will hit the fan and she'll be pregnant.

I have an issue even if she did qualify under the men’s standard.

The primary legit downside to women in armed service positions is not that they’re the “weak link”, which the undoubtedly are, it’s that they have a P and what is does to the chemistry and comraderie of that unit is irreversible.

Or...ya know people that have actually been in combat, like GeauxxxTigers23 or people that have actually trained first hand in an integrated unit, like me. I’ve seen it, they fricking suck at those jobs moreso than they suck at the rest of the jobs in the military.

Yes and apparently the fact that females and males being mixed together and causing sexual tension and jealousy and drama is all the men’s fault and if you don’t think that men should cast aside millions of years of evolution and biology then you’re a misogynistic sexist.

You can train a dog to ride a bike. You can train a woman to be a Marine.

But is it a good idea?

My only hope is that Trump/Mattis will do a 180 on this Obama shitshow in his second term. If it doesn’t happen I place this fully on the shoulders of Mattis he hasn’t done shite to stop the social experimentation of the military so far and has been a huge disappointment.

That would be impossible, without doping.

Physical limitations are a serious problem, but they’re not the most serious issue.

As said above though, combat arms will break her body and leave her functionally crippled.

She will leave service for medical reasons well before any men in her cohort do.
