The US Department of Education has around 4000 direct employees
This Department takes money from States and Municipalities, feeds itself, and then tells those states and towns what they must do to get a portion of their money back.

re: The US Department of Education has around 4000 direct employees
Never. Because it’s not politically tenable and the politicians who oppose such a move would brand it as the end of American education and that’d be the end of it.

Of course that wouldn’t be true but we don’t live in a world of rational opposing viewpoints anymore. Something like eliminating DOE, which is full of ridiculous and useless divisions that beaurocrats love, would be painted as literally Hitler.

“That’s retarded”

Shame on you BHP.

They deserve more funding.

Then they could buy bigger busses.

I’m sorry.

That's nothing. The worst I've seen on a board is a pic of a retarded child wearing a helmet just to walk around. The poster asked 'What is the helmet protecting?'

It was a horrible thing to say. But I laughed.

Sadly, you are probably right.

I also think the government wants to educate children so that they will beileve in more government.

Put another rhetorical way, would a government school ever teach students that private schools are preferable?

You'll never cut the Democrat campaigns office. They are all democrats, all Liberal, they were active in Dem. campaigns and rewarded with a job, health insurance, and Pension. They used to give $20 every two week paycheck to the Democrat campaign fund and man phone banks on election day. I know. I used to be active. Employee unions control the building.

I’m all for getting rid of the Dept. Regan had an opportunity to do so and chose not to. And if and when It is done away with, the taxes imposed upon the people to run it must also be done away with. What I dont want to see happen( and what I fear Is/will) is the the people’s money be handed over to a few private interests to control. Unfortunately, I believe this is Trumps plan(as was Bush, Clinton and Obama’s)
