The Supreme Court might throw a big wrench in the EPA’s attempt to fight climate change

Fifteen years after it opened the door to greenhouse gas regulation, the court is poised to close it.

The Supreme Court issued a pair of seismic rulings last week on abortion and gun control. Now it’s climate change’s turn.
The court is expected to rule this week on whether the Environmental Protection Agency can continue to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases using the Clean Air Act.
The decision in West Virginia v. EPA — which comes as scientists warn that the world is running out of time to avert catastrophic global warming — could severely limit the federal government’s ability to combat warming.
And depending on how broad the court’s ruling is, it could also drastically weaken the government’s power to regulate anything.

I am hoping for this for all the alphabet agencies... EPA, ATF, DoE, DOE, FDA, etc, etc...
This crap has been going on for way too long...

I certainly hope that they do!

Can't wait until the Supreme Court has to define what a fish is and is not.

Thomas hoping to Big Dick everyone and then go out on top in 2025 when hopefully someone sane is in the white house.
if not, well then he went out with a bang anyway.

Regulations should be passed by Congress. Agencies should only be there to enforce regulations passed by Congress

Isn't the case about whether the EPA can regulate without any limits not whether they can regulate at all? Now, that doesn't mean the Supreme Court can't choose to completely gut the EPA, and all regulatory agencies - by overturning Chevron - like I hope happens - but the quoted portion isn't correct.

We elected congress to do congressional shite. We did not elect Congress to pass the buck to a 3 letter agency because the legislation couldn’t get passed otherwise.
Burn it to the ground.
This decision would dwarf Dobbs. Most of the sky screamers don’t realize that though.

I've got to think Roberts will try everything in his power to flip Kav or Amy on this. Hope I'm wrong

Powerful Central Government fans would hate this but it would be a profoundly wonderful ruling to try and get this whole damn thing back on a proper track in alignment with the founding of our Republic.
We’ve morphed into a country where presidents rule by Executive orders, Courts and agencies make up laws on the fly and Congress has largely shirked any responsibilities save for putting on show trails.

This is a huge deal.
I hope the Roe vs Wade shite hangs around enough to keep this from getting the traction it should.
Only reason it isn't is because the Roe decision.

yep. Biden writes some executive order bs and suddenly the ATF redefines a gun. it's 100 percent illegal and unconstitutional.

Does this SCOTUS case involve only the EPA?
What about the CDC overreach via Biden with Covid?
No one trusts govt agencies any more but the extreme left- as the agencies operate under their political umbrella.
CDC, FISA, Patriot Act, USPS buying guns, CIA, FBI, DOJ, DOenergy DoEduc Homeland Security-- and on and on. Maybe if EPA gets its tentacles cut more will follow?
