I thought SNAP and WIC already prohibited the purchase of things not in the food triangle? If I'm not mistaken I thought the States controlled food stamp purchases

I think the card should only work at a gov't run commissary that is located in "food deserts" and only carries staples.

Do you think it should even more strict on Junk food? This is more part of the MAHA movement than anything else.

X pounds rice.
X pounds beans.
X pounds veggies.
X pounds fruit.
X pounds chicken quarters.

All store brands. All in bulk, one trip allowed every 2 weeks.

I don't care what food they buy with it as long as they pass random drug screens to keep their food stamps.

What do the children whose mother’s don’t cook eat when their stomach is growling?

Jk. I know conservatives don’t care about hungry children. They think free lunch is wrong

Maybe the kids can learn to cook on their I-Phones. I hear there are millions of cooking videos out there. Oh, and Momma's gotta eat. Maybe she can share.

Misplaced empathy.

Helping people is not the same thing as enabling them. All we've done is enable terrible eating habits by allowing the purchase of junk food on the taxpayer dime.

If these folks want to use their own money to buy junk food, then more power to them. I, however, do not wish to fund the degenerate lifestyle of welfare queens and their bastards.

America has to do a better job with its social programs. It's far past time.

Banning real food, like shrimp or steak is a bad idea. They only get x amount of dollars- who cares if it's spent on proteins?

I do. It's taxpayer money, there's strings attached. If you require food stamps to live, you're not that bright and need someone else to make your decisions for you.

Maybe it’s already been said, but snap should only be accepted at specific food banks, and not every single supermarket. Rice beans, specific meats, vegetable vegetables, fruit , certain juices, bulk cereal, oatmeal. Basics.

But let’s be honest it’s just as much about Big grocery corporate welfare as it is the welfare Queens

Why don't the mothers cook for their starving children?

The scams involving snap are rampant and cost us billions. End the whole damn program.

Produce, fresh milk, government cheese, hamburger meat, round steak, catfish, bread, basic condiments.

Nothing fancy. Nothing processed. It’s a safety net, not a fine dining card.

Well said. It’s not for fine dining. Shouldn’t be for premium products.

Tell us. What do they eat?

How many "hungry" children are obese? How many are actually starving?

A lot of SNAP recipients buy high dollar foods with it and then sell it for cash, pennies on the dollar.
