Pretty much nothing. The Dems thought they had Flake on their side to delay a week and allow further investigation during that time. I'm sure the Dems expected to parlay that into yet another delay. In the end, though, it is still up to Mitch. He cal call for the vote and it's a go.

If he's the deciding vote, he'll vote yes. Otherwise, let him be a puddy on the way out the door.

Grassley fricked the democrats.
The Dems had made some sort of backroom deal to have Flake agree to a 10 day delay and an amendment to the vote.
Grassley saw what was coming so instead of starting an amendment, he just gave Flake the opportunity to talk and then called a vote. None of the Dems were paying attention because they are too arrogant and stupid to do their jobs correctly, so the vote happened and passed and then Grassley adjourned the meeting.
Grassley just big dicked the Dems.

Flake said he was voting yes with the understanding that there would be a one week delay so that there could be an fbi investigation. Then the vote went 11-10 to send to the floor. They didn’t vote on any caveat and Grassely said it wasn’t his decision if there was a delay. That’s up to McConnell.

This is not like a full criminal investigation. They will basically just interview people, follow up on some stuff and say they couldn't find nuffin. Trust the process.

The committee voted. Kav is nomination is moved to the Senate floor but not before Thursday after the FBI has a chance to look into

This is exactly what happened. Grassley told Feinstein after the adjournment that it was a “gentlemen’s agreement”
Mitch and chuck have to agree to postpone the vote for an investigation. Otherwise flake is going no on the floor.

Grassley called vote to move BK out of committee
Vote passed
Grassley closed meeting before Flake amendment could even be considered
Dems thought they had another delay. Flake fricked up and Grassley took the opportunity to close that window.

He used their "I'm leaving the meeting" tactic against them. He never called a recess.
