Dems thought they had a deal with Flake to stipulate that he wouldnt vote yes unless they agreed to delay the Floor vote and Grassley blew it up by quickly calling for the vote to move the nomination to the Floor of the Senate
Grassley doesn't have the authority to tell McConnell what to do with the Floor vote
Feinstein doesnt understand the rules of the Senate and her own Committee
The real problem is Flake influencing Murkowski and Collins with his stupidity

He saw what was coming so instead of starting an amendment, he just gave Flake the opportunity to talk and then called a vote. The vote happened and then he adjourned the meeting.
