Was watching this new Scooby-Doo movie with my kid. Couple observations before finally having to turn it off:

1) References to RBG and how she was a heroic female superhero figure

2) Talked about toxic masculinity being a problem

3) Made jokes about Tinder (what kid knows about Tinder?)

4) Dick Dastardly was in the movie, and at one point one of the female characters was trying to get his attention by making moaning noises saying "dick, dick, dick"... this is when I clicked it off

5)Even outside of the crude, adult humor and references... the movie was just terrible and not enjoyable, which my son loves watching the old Scooby-Doos that I grew up watching.

...........

So what is Hollywood trying to accomplish by putting this messaging in their movies. Now I feel like I have to monitor all the shite my kids watch like a hawk.

Yes.

Nickelodeon and Disney have been pushing messaging in their programming for 3 decades.

I saw the trailer with the kid dressed up as RBG for Halloween

I’ve never seen a kid dressed up as a judge or politician on Halloween. The level of propaganda in the media these days is ridiculous.

There’s another new scooby-doo movie?

My purposeful avoidance of Hollywood must be working.

They kill the cartoons and replace it with their perversion of the stories.

Shaggy does say that she was in Slytherin. Voldemort was in Slytherin.

Was this a live action movie with real actors and was Daphne the one moaning? If so, could you, ya know, post a link or something? For a friend. Thanks.

3D animated, and believe it was not one of the main characters.

Try watching the new Archies and Sabrina series loosely based on the comic.

Terrible!

Nothing. Like the gratuitous interracial marriages, emasculation of White fathers, and unrealistic depictions of Girl Power shoehorned into every plot, this is merely a marketing ploy. Studies have proven it works. It's not part of a larger culture war. Nothing to see here. Just don't watch it if you don't like it.

Oh yea I forgot to mention, they also randomly and awkwardly wedged some person of color girl into the main cast of original characters, who ended up being the major character and of course smarter and stronger than everyone else and the hero.

Well, the options for Halloween are dwindling, especially if you are white.

Cowboy - offends an Indian
Indian - offends an Indian
Policeman - offends policewoman and black people
Fireman - offends fires
Clarence Thomas - offends black people

You get the idea.....

Hollywood, most of them would butt rape kids, yet we trust them with making our kids entertainment.

So, they knew that adults would watch it with their kids for the nostalgia factor and included innuendoes?
