These politicians on both sides do not care about the TRUTH. This is purely political and that is a bad thing for this country. This simply comes down to “do whatever it takes to get the seat” regardless of who did what.

Somebody is lying their arse off, and the truth should be found considering the significance of what’s at stake. The moral and ethical train has completely derailed the track.

Another thing. This board is far too one-sided and offers no hint of objectivity and healthy debate. It’s an irreprehensible flame fest and it’s not healthy. Many of you should rethink the way you treat others online, because social interaction veiled by the internet will continue to become more mainstream in the future of communication.

If this board isn’t going to change, then you need to change the name from “Political Talk” to “Far Right Circle Jerk” because that’s what it’s become. Nothing healthy about this place any more.

Many of you might say “melt bitch”, “snowflake”, etc. and this will only prove my point. It’s a horrible way to exhibit healthy political discourse in this country. Why would you want to talk politics only with people who agree with you?

I’m making a plea to both sides to please bring back the old Poli board before it was a one-sided shitshow. Trust that it will be a better place because of it.

Tell me how this happens.
You couldn’t investigate this even with a time machine.

Sure. But you cannot reach a conclusion on an accusation that is 36 years old where the accuser does not know the date or specific location. And furthermore, where everyone she named as being present says they weren’t there.

Having an investigation is a delay tactic. If Feinstein wanted an FBI investigation, she could have had one starting in July that would’ve been wrapped up well before the confirmation hearings.

And know what would have happened? She would’ve then leaked that the FBI deemed the accusation so credible that they had to do an investigation. And we’d be right back here with an unsubstantiated and unsubstantial allegation.

A guy made a similar comment (I'll spare you the "concern-troll" moniker) to a NYT article last night, amidst the Democrat progfilth counterpart to this board's posts in this abortion.

He actually made more sophisticsted and nuance points than you TBH, but I'll give you a star for effort.

This was my response, which the NYT actually accepted. I was surprised, given the last sentence. Maybe the filter didn't make it that far (an old friend randomly popped in before I reviewed this so I just hit send--it's a bit rambling):

quote:

RattlesnakeMac | Montana
Bruce Rozenblit is the only one among you (as of this post) who possesses a shred of intellectual integrity on this issue. The rest of you appear completely blinded by ideology and party and have lost touch with basic logical reasoning, the principles of fairness that undergird our systems (as flawed as those systems are) and basic dignity. The confirmation (pun) bias displayed here is palpable. Or else you are truly and pitifully credulous. I'm not a big enough fan of irony to believe the latter. You hate Trump because he is inimical to our polity. Yet the antics you are blindly sanctioning mock our polity. You are afraid Roe may be overturned, because doing so would affront justice for women. Yet you exuberantly applaud a woman and her handlers who run roughshod over a man and his family with the least believable of tales and an absolute absence of corroboration, even circumstantial. I may not be a fan of Kavanaugh or his party. But I am abjectly ashamed of the Americans who've commented to this article. The NYT has been an embarrassment since my college years, so the article itself doesn't really deserve attention.

What is there to “investigate”? You have a complainant that cant name basic facts of this life altering assault that she experienced. You have the 4 people she claims knew about it all giving sworn statements that they didn’t know anything about the incident and that they weren’t there. How do you even begin to open an investigation from an incident that’s 36 years old, with no physical evidence, that all the witnesses and the accused say didn’t happen? You can even take a complaint with those flimsy arse facts

You have Corey Booker, a man who admits to unwanted groping of women in High School, questioning an innocent man being unfairly accused pretty much the same thing.

Blumenthal, who lied constantly about serving in Vietnam, says some stupid shite about “being false once means being false every time”.

Diane Feinstein not only sat on this information for weeks even before Kavanaugh was picked, she also had a Chinese spy working for her.

What in the frick is going on Democrats? Get your shite together.

In my opinion, there must be a larger effort to question the guy who was accused of being in the room when it all went down: Mark Judge.

Ah, you mean like reddit, where they block you if you’ve been on a certain subreddit?

Or democratic underground? Where they ban you if you’re to the right of Bernie Sanders?

Where is there more healthy debate?

Come on man. Name calling, flaming, discrediting someone over their username. Maturity has been thrown out the window. It’s simply not ok.

To be fair, there are some folks on here that are great, but it feels like the majority have gone off the deep end.

Ok, and it comes from both sides. It’s a two way street HERE.

Now, tell me a place that has healthier debate and is less of a “my side” circle jerk.

Then be the hero - start a healthy debate.

There are dozens of us 'far right circle jerks" who have been waiting for a rational fact based logic driven debate for decades.

OR maybe you should defend what you mean by "healthy debate" - I define it as presenting your opinion on some issue and being willing to explain why you think you are right - and being able to defend against those who think you are wrong.

I guarantee you will find many on here who would love to engage you on a 'healthy' basis. Of course you will have to ignore a few disruptors - yea we have a couple who are unable to do much more than yell 'melt' - sort of like the protesters at a senate judiciary hearing.

I know i have haunted political debate boards since the inception of the internet and have wandered thru many before settling here - this is the last best hope for such such a place. If you know of a better place for healthy debate please let me know.

Someone is lying - or is just intentionally mistaken and hardheadedly refuses to confront the real reason for why she is 'trying to do her civic duty.'

If you have to assign the term 'liar' to Ford or Kavanaugh - then the only rational choice is that Ford is the liar. I will accept that she is merely suffering from mistaken memory - or that she is mentally deranged - or that she is incompetent. Take your pick.

There is no way in any sane world that a case can be made that Kavanaugh is the liar. IF you have ANY thought supporting that possibility then PLEASE share it with us.

True - and I will make the assertion that the DEMOCRAT party is the only one with any liability for this sad situation. Prove me wrong.

There is none, because you’ll either be banned or blocked for having a differing opinion in most other places. This place leans to the right. It’s a sports board for a team in South Louisiana. You expected the democratic socialists of America? But for a registered independent like me, who is personally pro-weed legalization and for gay marriage but lean right in most other policies I don’t have very many other Internet forums where I would be welcomed. Where this a-hole has tons of places he’d feel accepted and he wants to come whine on here that it leans too right? Go cry a fricking river dude.
