This is not normal

quote:

It has been seven years since Dan Cathy affirmed biblical marriage in an interview. Seven years. Almost a decade. And yet the LGBT lobby has not yet dropped the matter. Against all odds, they have remained obsessed with the chicken chain for these 80 or so months. Just recently, Chick-fil-A locations were blocked from opening at airports in Buffalo and San Antonio. Protests are still waged. Gay rights activists are still writing angry think pieces. We still are told that eating a Chick-fil-A chicken nugget is an act of bigotry against homosexuals. The chicken itself is labeled "hateful." All, again, because of views expressed by Dan Cathy during Obama’s first term in office.

Chick-fil-A is not accused of actively discriminating against gay people. They serve gay people. They hire gay people. They do not take any discriminatory actions of any kind against gay people. But the founder is a Christian who believes what the Bible says. And that has been reason enough to spend seven entire years trying (unsuccessfully, and often hilariously) to destroy the man's business.

It’s not enough to peaceably tolerate it, you must enthusiastically celebrate sodomy or else.

It has been 46 years since Rowe v Wade. 46 years. Almost a five decades. And yet the right has not yet dropped the matter.

It's almost as if when people perceive something as unjust, they try to rectify in their way. Be it abortion or gay rights.

This is the key. They are being targeted because of what a man thinks, not how he acts.

These people are evil.

The right believes abortion to be immoral and a violation of a fetus' right to life.

There is no equivalent violation on part of the CEO's beliefs.

I am not comparing the two like that and you know it. Just that when there's a perceived, I'll say it again for you reading impaired, perceived injustice, people fight back. I am not comparing chicken to abortion. Jesus christ, what a terrible rebuttal.

Eventually, they're going to win. They represent entropy, while Chick-Fil-A has to put forth effort to stay in business, this group isn't trying to build anything. They're only trying to tear down. They have time on their side.

It's really sad. And it's what these assholes rely on. Since all they want is destruction, it's really just a waiting game until attrition and apathy join their side.

Abortion is an act that, in our view, takes the lives of innocent children.

CFA doesn't actually do anything that actively hurts or discriminates against anyone. They are targeted for their beliefs, not their actions.

Murdering babies is worse than having religious beliefs while taking no action against others, I think.

The Matt Walsh article linked in the OP is excellent. Here's another snippet:

quote:

The LGBT lobby spent six long years trying to punish Jack Phillips for declining to make a cake for a gay wedding. For most people, the matter with the cake would not have lasted more than half an hour. If a baker doesn't want to bake your cake, you go somewhere else and that is the end of the matter. But this slighted gay couple, with the machinery of the gay lobby behind them, decided to spend half a decade seeking vengeance over a pastry. And when the case failed in the Supreme Court, they went back and tried again. No sooner did Phillips return to work than a "transgender" man came looking to ensnare him in another legal battle.

This is not normal or healthy behavior. An adult should be able to cope with the fact that not every other adult in the world necessarily agrees with everything they do and think. There are many companies run by people who hold views I find abhorrent. I either choose to patronize those establishments or not, but I am not going to spend years of my life trying to penalize them for the crime of failing to abide by my every ideological whim. But that is how the LGBT lobby operates. And that's why all decent people — left or right, gay or straight — should oppose its aims.
