The Left is making such a HUGE mistake here. Most just want to blow off steam online.

But once their way of venting is taken away, people are going to lose their shite and hit the streets. And they are not going to be deterred merely because of the Left's hypocritical labels. What the Left is doing is literally trying to turn back the clock on the politics of this country twenty years. They are the conservatives here, not the right, who wants open-ended discourse. History is repeating itself like clockwork. This type of political repression almost never ends well for the repressor. Should be fun to watch in the coming days. I'm entertained.

I don’t believe hate speech, inciting violence and organizing a take over of the US Capitol are protected rights.

when you kill cops and plan more violence, that is not blowing off steam. eliminating as many ways to incite violence as possible.

What you are missing is the greater impacts these actions will have that are mass labeling and attempting to silence a large group of people who have done zero of those things you mention;

The right has NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER wanted open-ended discourse. As a movement, they have been against minority voting for decades. You don't get to go on a 2 month propaganda spree to damage our democracy, cap it off with violent insurrection, and then claim that the other side is hurting your feefees.

And what are you basing this off of?

Are you referring to the riots in Seattle, Portland, DC in June, Kenosha that left many dead and billions in property damage?

And the more those people are defended the more people will associate decent moderates with the mob. Those people are pieces of trash and every decent conservative would do well by distancing themselves.

So the swing state of Georgia with a Republican legislature and governor that passed legislation that got 97% of eligible minorities registered to vote was against minority voting?

Even the events you attempt to describe happened as you claim (they didn't), humans are given inalienable rights by their Creator and these rights are guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. Nothing that has happened or ever will happen can change that without undoing to the most fundamental laws of our society. Your point is moot.

THIS. This is why all this self-righteous indignation by some on this board is hilariously hypocritical. The history of the Right in this country is that of oppression, disenfranchisement, and all manner of dirty tricks to maintain status quo. Now they are whining about people being held accountable for tyrannical, anti-American behavior.

where Trump went wrong was providing the opportunity to do such a thing...

Anyone could have the same ideas and try a one person disturbance that gets dealt with. Where Trump went wrong was that thousands were there to listen to him specifically and basically do what he said.

He also could have had the same rally in New York or Philly and no one would have thought about breaching the Capitol because it was hundreds of miles away. That would have left Washington to do their jobs in peace, but Trump, etc. didn’t want them to

20 years? Closer to 50-60 years.

They seem to think that race and everything else is the same it was back in the 1960s%. Hint - it isn’t. And it they try to turn back the clock that far, people will realize how good they had it until this shite started.

I’ve yet to hear any of these regressives shed a year for officer David Dorne or even mention the ANTIFA/BLM riots. Why?

This is news to me. You mind sharing any time that Biden, Kamala, AOC or Pelosi condemned Antifa? Must’ve missed that one.

I'd love to see a bunch of quotes from prominent Democrat elected officials calling out Antifa.

Better brush up on your laws because hate speech isn't a thing and your characterizations are not a replacement for fact.
