The infamous Trump Tower meeting

We've heard from the press about the infamous Trump Tower meeting in which some Russians promised to give opposition research information to members of the Trump campaign, including Don Jr. The meeting didn't last long, once it was disclosed that the Russians wanted money for the opposition research and wanted to discuss US Russian policy if Trump was elected.
Did the same thing happen to the Clinton campaign? Did the Steele Dossier come about because the Clinton campaign decided to pony up the money for the opposition research, unlike the Trump campaign? I've never heard this discussed. We know the Clinton campaign paid Perkins-Coie, who paid Fusion GPS, who paid Christopher Steele for research. Could this have been the conduit that came about because the Russians tried successfully to muck with the Clinton campaign?

with Trump, we had operatives attempting to entrap him and his campaign into "colluding" with Russia

My question is, could there have been a meeting that acted as a catalyst to this that we don't know about? Do we know for a fact that the Russians didn't initiate this whole thing that ended up as the Steele Dossier?

The Russians in this case had a working relationship with a firm called Fussion GPS. That name sounds familiar doesn't it?

Don't forget that the whole thing came about right after the Odumbf*ck administration's first FISA request was one of the .01% of FISA applications that was rejected.
Did Hillary, the DNC, and Odumbf*ck pay the $14 million for that FRAUDULENT dossier to bolster their FISA application so that they could spy on Trump?

Yeah in a way you are right. The FBI and Hillary both used Steele, who in turn relied on Russian sub-sources. The FBI used him as their “source” for the FISA and Hillary used him to author the phony dossier. They are the exact same sets of information, just packaged separately. That way the FBI has plausible deniability to say their reliable source got it all wrong not them, and insulate them from the actual dossier.

When was the dossier written? Did Steele write it, or did it already exist prior to his employment with Fusion GPS.
My question is: What if the Russians approached the Clinton campaign with the promise of dirt on Trump? Clinton couldn't write a check to a foreign national, so they paid Perkins-Coie to hire Fusion GPS to do "opposition research". This was all a front to get the dossier from the Russians. Of course, they used Bruce Ohr (connected to Fusion GPS) to get the dossier into the hands of the upper level FBI administrators.
