The legislation, H.R. 7688, just passed 217-207.
Chucky vows to get a vote in the Senate soon.

Get ready for $10 gas

Demand > supply is not price gouging; it's economics.

This is obviously all deflection.

We need a bill to exempt sales taxes on fuel since they are so concerned with oil companies profiting.

Get ready for gas lines. Why produce gas when you lose money on every gallon.

Yeah. This won’t move the needle.

Not sure how it causes higher prices tho.

they're likely gonna cut off any profits that oil companies can make. If they're not making a profit, they'll cut production.

Amazing how the government thinks they can tell a company how much money they can make.

The legislation, from Schrier and Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.), would outlaw the selling of fuel at an “excessive” price during an energy emergency, though it does not detail any particular price threshold.

The bill would also empower the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to pursue legal action if instances of price gouging are discovered.

Now there's a bright line.
Why not just make a law: 'It is henceforth illegal for corporations to be bad.'

They will cut production to replace what’s being lost. Democrat voters don’t understand this, so passing this bill looks like democrats are doing something to help out with the high prices when in fact it does the opposite. Trying to hide the problem doesn’t fix the problem. Our government is the reason for higher fuel prices this time. Banning Russian oil and cancelling leases doesn’t help our cause. This is all to push foward a green America.

They could always reduce taxes on the gas.

Just saying.

Ambiguous law is facially unenforceable.
