Poll was conducted pre-Mueller.

quote:

Fifty-four percent in the Hill-HarrisX survey released Monday said they would think about voting for Trump

quote:

Seventy-six percent of former Clinton voters said they would "never" vote for Trump but 24 percent said they would at least consider it. Among people who did not vote in 2016, 65 percent said they would never vote for Trump while 35 percent said they could do so. The economy was the most popular reason for those willing to vote for Trump. Twenty-two percent of those saying they could vote for Trump cited the economy as their primary reason.

Probably too early to be relevant yet, but one organization that actually predicted Trump's victory based on historical criteria, not polls, is currently projecting he gets 56% of the popular vote winning in a landslide at the moment, based purely on economic indicators.

By default Presidents win re-election as long as the economy is at least okay, and if the economy is booming or has improved greatly during their first term it's pretty much a 100% guarantee that they win in a landslide.

Assuming the economy is still very strong by election time, the Democrats have virtually no chance, from a historical standpoint.

He is a 2 term President at this point ,and if the Democrats continue they will crush themselves in 2020. They have no message except Orange man bad. I think Trump just won re election and will take back the House.

does this mean he would get California, Colorado, and Washingtons electoral votes? that would be glorious.

Yeah, if the economy is good then Trump will be in a really good spot. A lot of normal, non-partison people will think to themselves "You know he may tweet crazy stuff, but the country is still here and things seem to be ok." Plus the Democratic Primary is going to be a complete circus.

The Dems only have to improve marginally from 2016 in a few states in order to win, but Trump will be a stronger candidate as well.
