This was the natural progression for Dems. Southern Dems like Bill Clinton, John Breaux, and Sam Nunn did their best to hold it off as long as possible, but the radicals became emboldened following Obama's election.

Might be the other way around..they are no longer Marx and have moved on to Stalin.

In an effort to garner as many votes as possible and become the dominant political party, the Democrats tried to be all things to all people.
Part of keeping together this coalition requires not making any of these factions angry. This led to the uber PC climate of the Obama administration.
As a result, they constantly invented new ways to "out-prog" themselves, going further and further left.
Now, the party is being pulled further left by this progressive faction. The moderates in the party gave them a voice, and now they've lost control. But they're too stubborn to admit it; they'd rather die than give an inch to the Republicans.

Can you eleborate on this hard turn to the right? You do realize that Trump is indisputedly moderate on every issue but immigration?
How long have you been asleep?
Exactly what issues is Trump indisputedly moderate on? Why don't you list them.
Why would someone who is indisputedly moderate appoint the the most conservative cabinet in history?

Maintaining conservative views is very different than moving from liberal to full blown socialists.
How many leftist brutal attacks on the right have happened vs the other way?

The intellectual liberals have given way to the emotional radicals.
The intellectual liberals have always used the emotional radicals to make themselves look reasonable, by contrast, or in some cases, to help themselves gain power. The communists used the radical mobs to drive the revolution, but once the communists took power, they took the radicals out back and shot them. They know that there is no appeasing the emotional radicals, so they got rid of them.

You must have replied to the wrong post, because your response had nothing to do with my post.
If that's not the case, perhaps you would like to try again. I posted my original post above, in case you are so inclined.

Both this tax bill and the attempts to repeal obamacare were undeniably moderate.
The tax bill still has the class warfare shite that is a given now.
