The future of comedy will be found in socialism- LA Times

LA Times
I would paste the whole article, but this quote from Zepeda (never heard of him before now since he’s propagandist and not a comedian) is just the most narcissistic thing I’ve ever heard who thinks he’s the most enlightened comedian ever:
quote:
“It is asking comedians to do something that we have never traditionally done, which is think beyond yourselves.”
Oh yeah, Pryor, Carlin, Hicks, Norm, Chapelle, Rogan, Ricky, Wright, and Bruce never thought about or talked about subjects beyond themselves! How fricking delusional and uneducated do you have to be to think you are the visionary on that issue? Clearly all these comedians:

In Soviet Russia, the jokes laugh at you!

Another gold/genocidal quote from the so-called “comedian” Zepeda. How would this be any different from any Nazi official if they made a joke about something they don’t like?
EDIT 1: Another one. Where would Goebbels disagree with any of this?
Edit 2: Turns out Zepeda is a chick. She’s the one closest to the frame in the OP (unsurprisingly).
quote:
“What’s important to me is to be solution-orientated,” Zepeda says. “If someone [screws] up on stage, we’re not going to kick them out. There’s going to be accountability. We tell people to act better, and give them no tools. We need to have sensitivity training.”
EDIT 1: Another one. Where would Goebbels disagree with any of this?
quote:
“Anyone can complain,” says Zepeda. “Not everyone can problem-solve. That’s what sets us apart. I understand hesitancy. I hear it. But what other option is there? All the systems around us we have watched crumble and fall to the ground. We should be excited by ‘what if?’”

Another gold quote:
These people are unbelievably stupid.
quote:
“I was at one of the early meetings, and James asked what 2% of $2,000 was and I threw the number out,” says actor and comedian Artoun Nazareth. “‘Oh, it’s $40.’ He’s like, ‘God, you’re good with numbers. You should be on the money committee.’
“So I ended up there. I’ve done a ton of research into tax law, and learned what the difference is between an LLC and a cooperative corporation,” Nazareth continues. “I didn’t know any of that was coming my way.”
But if the group is hopeful, it’s not delusional.
These people are unbelievably stupid.

People that make the cast of SNL look completely sane and reasonable.

Is this what Russia was like in the 1910s? Just having this stuff around and then eventually it hits critical mass and boom communism for a century.

Current comedy is absolute dogshit. It's the worst it's ever been. The comedians can't joke about controversial shite anymore without being fear of being canceled unless of course half your set is frick Donald Trump or you talk how pro liberal you are. The shite doesn't get laughs and it's just an unfunny business. Comedians used to be counter culture that would question everything coming from DC but not anymore. We lost the funny men to tyranny and they played along on little puppet strings. Makes you appreciate guys like George Carlin and Norm MacDonald and under the radar guys like James Meyers.
Unfortunately, their entire business - the venues, the advertisers, the stations - all of it, is forcing comedians to be unfunny sellouts. Shame

Boy I'd love to see what Carlin thought about the current state of our country. He would eviscerate these fascists
Would probably be pretty toned down much like Dave Chappelle who still pushes back against cancel culture but does it with enough wit that they don't completely cancel his arse.

No this is Weimarism.
Pre-Soviet times were more like an endless George Floyd riot in a single city. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for us, Russia at the time was concentrated in a single city. By taking Petrograd they took the entire country overnight

No, those men were killers. Stalin was robbing banks.
This is weird, degenerate, Weimar behavior.

I did. It was exactly like expected. bullshite ideas sprinkled with pseudo-intellectual non-sense. They look like a soy filled beta convention attendees.

Comedy with rules is always funny. I’m sure two of the ten it’s would make me laugh at them.
