Against outrageous tax increases to “battle” global warming.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

The French people tend to be leftist/liberals/socialists like most Europeans?

Many police and firemen are siding with the protesters against the government.

And the Socialist Dems. here are going to be running in 2020 with the global warming issue as the signature point in their platform.

They believe that raising taxes and destroying our economy is a winning issue?

They love the idea of being superior and progressive until they realize that someone else isn't going to pay for it

It’s a little more than that. Immigration is playing a factor as well, not just taxation.

Yeah...and I heard Rush say that they are chanting "we want Trump"!

This open border/utopia crap only stands up for so long, and then Mother Nature takes the helm.

I'm so glad my ancestors opted to come to Louisiana and not back to France in 1700's.

Please don't spread fake news. There is no mass defection to the protesters by the security forces. Just two short videos (that I've seen) of officers removing their riot helmets. This hasn't reached revolutionary levels yet.

Good.

It may take riots and violence for leaders to become responsive to actual, legitimate problems.

They voted for these politicians. They supported these policies. Now they can deal with the consequences.

Like most liberal idealists

They love the sound of happy, idealistic legislation talk. And why not, it sounds so nice!

Until they see how it impacts them directly

The French may not be happy about this gas tax, but I also don't think they will be clamoring to see their government reduce entitlement spending which probably is a huge part of their overall tax burden.

Macron has actually indicated that he is for some reduction of French entitlement spending, and I don't think these protestors are excited about it.

The socialist progressives in the USA are always trying to play catch up to failed European economic and foreign policies.

They riot better than they fight but that still leaves something to be desired.
