It was about more than taxation without representation. That was just the straw that broke the camels back.

The foundation of the nation is rock solid. I just wish those who it supports could see that with more inward focus and drive they could achieve all the things they claim to want.

Are you referring to 1776 or 2020?

I get your point, but you're being a bit hyperbolic.

I do agree though, they would have put their foot down a long time ago.

The Founders would be utterly ashamed of what we've let become of the country the bled to create

I don't like the taxation we've got WITH representation. Screw working for anyone but myself.

Taxation is the real wage slavery!

I don't disagree.

The IRS is the new plantation owner but not enough people seem to be pissed that the government enslaved the entire country with it.

Sheas rebellion and then the whiskey rebellion in the early onset of our country got pretty serious for President Washington; however, that was still over taxes and not an overthrow of capitalism and moral decency like today.

I would argue we are living through a version of taxation without representation today. When you send people to Washington to make a positive change, they too often get consumed by the swamp and start looking out for themselves only.

Ah bullshite. Being rich doesn't make men want to pee in a woman's bathroom or make a man want to become a woman, much less loot and burn businesses that helped them attain that wealth.

I thought the new York times said that the country was founded in 1619 on a foundation of history.

Capitalism is the only system on this side of heaven that, while not perfect, trumps all others.

It rewards hard work and gives consumers choice. You may be referring to corruption which comes at all levels of human behavior.

How about representation without taxation. That a-hole Mitt warned us about this in 2012 and we still don't do anything about it.

Wonder if we will find out what that straw will be in our current environment.
