The simple fact that over 400 PRIVATE JETS flew to Glasgow for a climate change event DURING COVID instead of…. I don’t know…. Do what everyone else has done over the last 2 years and have their meeting virtually over zoom… you know, instead of flying 400 private jets across the globe, collectively polluting more than any of us will in our lifetimes.

That is good fortune. Understand that we don't draw conclusions from datasets of one. We have very good data on millions of people that strongly support some conclusions, several of which are:
1. The vaccines had a 95% effectiveness of slowing infections during the first few months after dosage. This fades to about 13% a year later as new variants have arisen and the antibodies fade.
2. The vaccines have a very good record of preventing the worst outcomes - death and severe sickness and long covid.
3. As you pointed out, young and healthy people have little to be concerned about regarding covid.
4. Folks who have already had covid get very little benefit from vaccines.
5. Cloth masks are nearly useless.

Nuclear power plants could easily replace large scale fossil fuel usage. USA needs to get out in front on this. We will always need some fossil fuels so perhaps it would be best to leave as much in the ground as we can reasonably leave now not only for climate change reasons but also for future use.
