re: The Bible: Gay vs Pork
Wearing a shirt made from polyester and cotton and eating shrimp is also the same sin as homosexuality.

hawkeye007 isn't asking a question to seek an answer. He's looking for a "gotcha" and he has no interest in a legitimate and clear answer. I think this is one of those instances where we're told not to "cast our pearls before swine."

Your response is clear, concise, well-reasoned, and accurate. I doubt, though, that he'll even click the link. The soil is hard there. Go ahead and cast the seed that direction, but don't expect it to do anything more than provide food for the birds.

So much ignorance in this post. Please do some research, I assume you're grown enough to do that. Truly sad...

Nope, just a believer in Jesus who woke up to incorrect doctrine interpreted by western understanding instead of a hebraic one.

re: The Bible: Gay vs Pork
Another thing to consider was that all of these old testament rules and regulations implemented were to separate the Jewish community from the uncleanliness in the Gentile community at the time....as well as keep the Jewish community from falling away from God as they had done in the past (worshiping Pagans, etc.)

However, as pointed out by Jesus, the Jewish community has constantly fallen away from God and groups such as the Pharisees were full of pride and were only worried about how strictly the laws and regulations were followed.

Jesus gave them an opportunity to come into the new covenant, where what was important was the 10 commandments and the golden rule (among other things)...not the crazy implementation and regulations of the Old Covenant.

I think it is fairly clear from the Pauline epistles that he cared very little about dietary laws. But he talks a lot about sexual purity.

So, it would seem that if the guy who wrote half the NT books cared little about dietary laws and a lot about sexual purity, then we should as well.

We don't? I don't know which church you are going to, but mine speaks of these things often. The pure ignorance coming from you and the OP is astounding "

.... pure crap coming from your mouth. When I say "we", I mean the nation, as a whole. When was the last post on TD about liars? How often do politicians rant against liars and adulterers? How many non-religious organizations take stands against homosexuality, but never mention liars and adulterers?

So are you saying if I/we give up pork, you and your ilk will stop being homo-children groomers? Cause if that stops the debate I would be willing. And I probably love eating pork, as much as, you love back alley crack deals on your knees.

Goes to show you that you are clueless about the Bible. The Lord removed the old dietary laws in Acts 10…go read and get informed.

I’m assuming you’re gay and that you are trying to validate your gayness. Unfortunately, you failed miserably.

quote:

Leviticus 18:22-23, 30; 20:13
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. You shall not have sexual relations with any animal and defile yourself with it, nor shall any woman give herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it: it is perversion. So keep my charge not to commit any of these abominations that were done before you, and not to defile yourselves by them: I am the Lord your God. If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them.

That's so specific you kinda have believe God likes Girl on Girl.

Christians love to point out that homosexuality is a sin. The bible says the same thing about eating pork. So when are christians going to speak out against pork like the do when it comes to homosexuality?

Then the flood happened and Noah's ark. From my understanding, all animals were cleaned from that day going forward.

quote:There are biblical grounds for divorce.

Yes, but not We grew apart and he doesn't get me types of ground. The church has failed in this area.

Definitely due to the "free sex before marriage" mentality. Which is a part of the sexual sin piece, which the gay mafia tends to not like to connect.

Christians pushing premarital sex would be an issue. Yes majority of us sin in that department, but its the promotion of it that needs to be curtailed. And we aren't promoting it to children either. There would be an outcry if we had graphic hetero-sex conversations and books in elementary schools. Let kid have their innocence sick groomers...ie the OP.

Thing the OP doesn't get is most of us understood there were gays and trannies around and throughout world history. Its the constant bombardment of it the last decade, and now the grooming of children to act like its no big deal. And if we say we don't want our children to be groomed is punishable by getting "Swatted." Lots of issues that parents today have to deal with that they didn't have to in the past, and it's not our faults but the people stepping out line into our realm.

My bad didn't mean to rant out at you aubie...just starting flowing. /r

re: The Bible: Gay vs Pork
Nature itself is the best witness to the truth—as in the physiological traits of man and woman point to procreation. The parts fit. Whether an individual so chooses to ignore the normal, natural use of sex in procreation or the marital act is a choice. Across creation history, including in the animal world we see this male-female interaction leading to new life.

Gays can have sex, but they can't conceive life. Transvestites can slice and dice their bodies, but a male is still a male, a female still a female. Furthermore, the female with manufactured male genitalia cannot create sperm, let alone deposit it in a functioning receptacle (vagina), whence it fuses into life. Choosing a gender pronoun does not a gender make.

By golly, we'll just have to accept the reality that this male-female thing was decided a gazillion years ago, by someone much smarter than us.

So leave the Bible or religion out of this discussion. Can we at least acknowledge that someone (or something) assembled the first male and first female long ago. And presumably they were assembled sometime after the first day. Fair enough?

In the meantime. Vive la différence.

Just want to say buddy, the father may be drawing this man into faith in his son Jesus Christ. Let’s show this Lad the same grace and patience God showed us when we were ignorant of the light.

Absolutely. If the church had taken good care of the sacrament of marriage, the argument against homosexual marriage would be much clearer and more obvious. It’s only the watered down version of a temporary, convenience marriage for fulfillment’s sake that homosexual marriage can compare to with any sort of favor.

All part of their evil plan. Add the internet "ordaining" and watering down the idea of proper religious marriage has been attacked for a reason.

re: The Bible: Gay vs Pork
Context is key.

WHO was God directing the command of not eating pork to?

Was this under the old law or the new covenant?

Homosexuality is mentioned as a sin in the New Testament. There’s no mention of pork and the old law was fulfilled when Christ sacrificed himself.
