and give him lighters and gasoline."

That, folks, is your NN debate. Focusing on packets and this one regulation, ignoring the rest of what is involved(giving government more power and authority). The government created the problem of limited ISP choices in some areas, and you want to give a bigger government agency even more power in order to fix a SYMPTOM of the problem created by government.

Also remember, the giant ISPs will end up writing the regulations since they are considered the experts.

NN will die - of that I have no doubt.

Another Soros/Obama policy down the drain.

I don't know, man. We have to defeat it.

So far Soros is winning the internet.

Don't know why this is subject to an argument from incredulity. Federal vs state vs local governments are just as much an aspect of checks and balances as legislative vs executive vs judicial.

I want to laugh at that observation but since it is Thanksgiving I'll simply say, no, that's not an example of checks and balances.

If the states actually held the 10th amendment in place, sure somewhat. The Senate turning into the second House of Representatives did not help at all.

Everybody just sees "America" as their governing body and gloss over local and state politics as a point of control.

This is a state and local problem that people want to turn federal, only creating the same problem on the federal level.

Stupid is as stupid does.

I think Madison might be the first to admit it didn't quite work out as he imagined. Otherwise I might have had my first drink at 18.
