Average age is 57. That seems about normal.

So, you can't find anything reasonable to explain why it's happening?

Huh.

That makes me :).

I have my own opinions as to why it's happening. I just threw the info out there so others could give theirs.

3 of 4 GOP Senator retirements are safe for republicans. The only close race will be in Arizona.

In PA. map redistricting will has help Dems and may see a few more retirements in PA.

In purple area’s Trump will probably hurt the GOP area's just like every other president( Dems and Republican) has in the past midterms.

It’s not just the midterms if map redistricting continue’s it will hurt the GOP even more in 2020 and even more retirements.

Honestly I have zero faith in the RNC to run good candidates, whether they are existing Congressmen or new replacements. Across the board the Republican party simply runs awful candidates. If they lose the House, that will be why. Retirement will have nothing to do with it. Those retiring for the most part aren't good candidates either.

ETA: Handel, awful. Saccone, awful. Moore, awful. The Democrats are somehow better at being more practical with their selections
