Nothing new. But funny to watch their leftest hysteria.
“Yeah, you know I'm disappointed in that, if I have to be candid," Rispone said. "I think he's hurt the reputation of West Point. I don't think West Point wants to turn out a bunch of trial lawyers that will say or do anything to stay in power."
Rispone owes all veterans who served with honor an apology. Regardless of our deeply partisan times — or perhaps because of them — we should find common ground in the idea that military service is a good thing. If we can’t agree on even that simple point, then America is in even more trouble than we thought.

I served and I don’t give a frick that Rispone said that. edwards has been a crook his whole life. Look at his family.

West Point wants to turn out career officers.
I would think when they invest four years of educating a cadet and another five years of training a ranger they would prefer that he’d stay in the Army and not become a trial lawyer, but maybe I’m wrong. Maybe they want their officers to quit after five years.

JBE is an infantryman and did pass Ranger school back when that meant something. He does have strong bona fides there in my mind.

Someone who’s served with honor in the infantry and passed Ranger school can watch my six anyday.
ETA: He also was an accomplished company commander in the illustrious 82nd Airborne Division.

I know a guy who served with honor in the infantry, passed ranger school, got a purple heart and was arrested by civilian authorities as soon as he got back from the sandbox for molesting his 11 year old stepdaughter.
The military has bad people in it. I'm not saying anything about JBE; I don't know anything about him. But I've seen too many people with a lot of bling on their uniforms do bad things to think that bling is an automatic sign of good character. It means (usually) that something of note was accomplished by the person. Nothing less and nothing more.

Does passing Ranger School make you a “Ranger”? Or do you have to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment to be a Ranger?

Depends on who you ask; the term gets thrown around a lot. Used casually it can refer to anyone wearing the tab; used formally it refers to a member of the 75th. You can also be a member of the 75th, deploy, be authorized to wear the combat Ranger scroll but not go to the school. So the scroll is authorized for you to wear, the tab isn't.
