I don't trust these sobs.

I feel this is no more than an attempt to monitor gun and ammo purchases.

If these people banned ar15s and the announced they would monitor your bank account, it would make perfect sense.

But if they monitor your bank account first, people would not make the connection. They can work on banning guns after the new bank law is in place.

I feel the IRS under Biden would gladly give info to the FBI.

BTW. What's the beginning cost of an ar15? About $600. Kind of ironic isn't it?

Can't you pay cash for this?

Where’s the substantive pushback from elected republicans?

All it would do is incentivize cash purchases

There has been a huge push since covid to get rid of cash purchases.

Many restaurants here in Htown don't even accept cash now. It's weird.

Most people purchase guns and ammo with either a credit or debit card. Especially online.

If the bank acct and gun purchase monitoring were not public knowledge, cash sales would not increase. It would remain the same.

And many stores are now refusing to do cash transactions due to the “coin shortage” tied to Covid.

A certain dealer I do business with said they are more than happy to take multiple $599 payments.

You do realize the $600 is an aggregate amount, and not a per-transaction reporting limit right?

The proposal is for banks to report aggregate $$ coming in and out of every account that sees >$600 of movement in a year. Meaning, just about every damn account out there. This isn't targeting ammo/guns, it's a straight up government overreach.

The Smith and Wesson m&p 15 sport II with 30 round magazine.

$749 online.... it would be reported.

900 rounds .556 - $799 online... it would be reported.

I don't buy firearms or ammunition with anything other than cash.

The purpose of the 600$ reporting is much more nefarious than that. It's just more "Big Brothering".

It is likely to start hitting people who run a side business like eBay as a hustle if they can’t account for where the money comes from.

IOW, if that money doesn’t come from a W2 or a 1099, they want to be able to have the IRS buttfrick you.

Right, but I'm not seeing the logic you're running with here. Are you insinuating that they are tracking this to find out who has AR-15s so they can take them away?

Are Gun Store purchases itemized on your bank account? Is this a retroactive reporting for the thousands upon thousands of ARs already out there. I honestly think you're reaching a little bit here. This is just Government overreach.

No offense, but that's kind of like finding out the school is teaching your kids to support communism, and you telling them to cheat on the test to pass.

When the bottom line is that the Biden admin doesn't need to watch our bank accounts at all.
