That WNBA dude is going to be in Russia for a while; detention extended another 6 months

I'm trying hard to care about this case. Okay, no I'm really not. Don't want to end up stuck in their legal system, don't break their laws no matter how much you disagree with them. Only in the US and Western Europe is it acceptable to break laws without fear of consequence, everywhere else in the world actually enforces their laws. Your perpetual victimhood means zilch to them.
It's also probably not advisable to break said laws when a proxy war between Russia and the West, including the country that issued your damn passport, was imminent.

I don't understand...trial starts Friday, but detention is extended 6 months? What could take the trial longer than a day maybe 2, but definitely max 1 week?
Did she have what they accused her of or not? If she did, what's the automatic penalty? Then apply said penalty. Simple as 1...2...3
