His eyes re-focused on the page. He discovered that while he sat helplessly musing he had also been writing, as though by automatic action. And it was no longer the same cramped, awkward handwriting as before. His pen had slid voluptuously over the smooth paper, printing in large neat capitals -
DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER
DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER
DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER
DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER
DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER
over and over again, filling half a page.
He could not help feeling a twinge of panic. It was absurd, since the writing of those particular words was not more dangerous than the initial act of opening the diary, but for a moment he was tempted to tear out the spoiled pages and abandon the enterprise altogether.
He did not do so, however, because he knew that it was useless. Whether he wrote DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER, or whether he refrained from writing it, made no difference. Whether he went on with the diary, or whether he did not go on with it, made no difference. The Thought Police would get him just the same. He had committed -- would still have committed, even if he had never set pen to paper -- the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thoughtcrime, they called it. Thoughtcrime was not a thing that could be concealed for ever. You might dodge successfully for a while, even for years, but sooner or later they were bound to get you.
George Orwell 1984
Part 1 Chapter 1
What concerns me is Orwell seems to have been clairvoyant and in his book the State wins.

He was either
A. An idiot
B. An agent (Federal, foreign, which kind doesn't matter. They both have the same goals)

No. His DNA was mostly Northern European.

Flashback: Oct 10 2020….
How the FBI spent months tracking the plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer....
A more accurate headline should probably read: “How the FBI spent months framing a bunch of low IQ stooges who wouldn’t otherwise have the sense to pour piss out of a boot...”
This “plot“ reminds me of the infamous underwear bombing plot, the Portland Christmas Tree bombing plot and the Wrigley Field bombing plot.

I once went to a League of the South meeting. I could just feel the place crawling with Feds. Didn't say anything about it to anyone because I didn't want to get laughed at. I think LOS is a real thinking man's neo-Confederate organization, but I never went to another meeting.

I've posted that one many times myself. Haven't had any feds show up yet.
I didn’t say they were raiding your house. I specifically mentioned intelligence files. Would not be surprised if they identified you via IP, then went to your social media. If enough exists to determine you’re an extremist, they could put together an Intel report or even a criminal case file. You don’t think they’re gonna give you a courtesy call and tell you this, do you?

we've seen people in them talking about wanting to come here and break up "the echo chamber"
I don’t understand why people do this. I can understand coming in with a dissenting opinion (I’ve had my share of highly downvoted posts on here) but why come in with the express intent of trying to tell other people everything they believe is wrong?
If they want “their” echo chamber, /r/politics and Twitter are more than happy to cater to them.

Well, they should realize that the PoliBoard has people smarter than they are; damn sure more honest.

Agreed. It's one thing to enjoy posting here and realize you have a differing opinion and want to engage and argue your point of view. I did this for a long time in regards to religious faith. It's a whole nothing thing to purposefully seek out a place that you know does not agree with your position solely to annoy the people there. I'd never do that kind of thing ever.

That's the funny thing abut that claim...the ENTIRE WORLD is currently their echo chamber. They essentially own all of education, entertainment (tv, movies, music) sports, news media and social media. And yet, in the few instances where people who disagree with them have managed to carve out small places to discuss what they'd like free from their bullshite, they need to point and label THEM "echo chambers" and seek to destroy them.

JTay of Vandy's big takes were anti-semitism and that "Democrats are the real racists" is a total lie.

Can you still be put on a watch list if you say something like:
We should overthrow this corrupt and evil government..... in Minecraft
According to SCOTUS only a "true threat" is illegal. LINK
This is why all the celebrities who referenced Trump being killed (Johnny Depp, Madonna, Robert De Niro, that red headed bitch, etc) are still walking around.
I also heard a podcast with a couple of Navy SEALs saying that expressing an opinion/support of violence/justice is legal but specifically threatening to take action yourself is illegal.
Obviously if you are a white male who questions the establishment then anything you say, regardless of legal rulings by SCOTUS, can get you put on a watch list.
