I'm assuming a vast majority of Dems and non-Trumpers in Texas aren't talking about secession as a credible solution to the current quagmire we are in.

30-40% of Texans disagree with that notion

TEXIT is a Russian destabilization campaign

I’m close with every (living) founding member of the Texas Nationalist Movement.
The etiology you assign to TEXIT is a head-scratcher.
We have a Nolan and a Vaughan amongst us, but no Nikolai or Viktor.
I promise.

OP: It’s not only realistic, a healthy number of Texans are working on it daily/hourly.

No sane population will support that in the near term.

Define your near term.

I usually find myself agreeing with you a lot on here but think you are wrong on this one. I agree this will not happen until a full blown crisis forces the hand of the states but I think one of these crises is nearly inevitable. I also think this will be a trend around the world as the EU weakens too. The globalism trend is under serious pressure right now.

We are much closer to one of these crises unfolding than people realize. No one would have predicted what covid did to the United States only a few years ago.

There are several things that I can foresee with probabilities much higher than your “zero point zero percent”. These include a major USD devaluation, an economic depression, abolishing of the second amendment, court packing, and Trump’s arrest/assassination. All of these are game changers for what the population will support or accept.

They can tell you till they're blue in the face.
Does it change your vote or lifestyle? Of course not. They are like your old aunt's yappy dog and should be treated the same way.

If they are actually declaring war on the US by seceding, do you think they would not have something ready to seize the US military assets? They will seize it and the US will be expelled. The US is used to leaving behind military equipment.

Not likely unless the government makes a full run on guns or something else very drastic like that.

If it does happen though I would fully expect 20+ states to follow.

Texas has been through all of the above before at some level or another and buckled down and persevered through all of them save one... Come and Take It.

Attempted disarmament would result in immediate nullification and insurrection. That was the straw that broke the camel's back before in 1835 and will be again.

I noticed my question get answered. The new countries will likely follow the same mistakes as USA.

TEXIT is a peaceful movement.
When we divorce from the US, it’ll happen at the voting booth, not on the battlefield.

But I would expect it has to get so incredibly bad that it pushes Texas' citizens to the point of accepting that war against the U.S. is inevitable. In my opinion, the revolt doesn't start against the U.S. but instead starts at Austin against the Texas state government, forcing Texas legislators to recognize formally that the state is no longer able to have faith and confidence in the U.S. government to follow Constitutional laws and has voted to enact the plan for Texit, leading to Texas as an independent country. At that time, shite gets real as Texas will set off a chain reaction that is a direct threat to the union of states. Either the full force of FedGov is immediately used to take over Texas' government and the DOJ arrests all legislators that "committed treason" by voting to leave the union, or like domino's, 20+ other states see the weakness of a badly wounded union and make the same declarations as Texas. At that point, the U.S. ceases to exist as an economic and military superpower. The world would see an economic and world crisis as China would quickly flex its muscle across the globe as the U.S. collapses.

Texans would never allow the fed to arrest their representatives, this is the fastest way to a civil war.
