For criticizing a student paper article: "Your DNA is an Abomination"
Here is the article that was criticized - it begins with "I hate white people" and includes this line:
"Ontologically speaking, white death will mean? ?liberation? ?for? ?all.? ?To? ?you? ?goodhearted? ?liberals, apathetic? ?nihilists,? ?and? ?right-wing? ?extremists:? ?accept? ?this? ?death? ?as? ?the? ?first? ?step? ?toward? ?defining yourself? ?as? ?something? ?other? ?than? ?the? ?oppressor."

This kind of stuff makes me sad for my kid. I'm glad she's too young to see what's going on now and hope that we can get over this kind of shite before she becomes aware of what's going on.

Texas State is like an overflow campus for Texas, or where you go when the hippie lettuce washes you out on grades.
So, it's only natural that a good chunk of the crazy ends up there, too. It's in the genes.
You don't hear this crap as much out of Sam Houston, the overflow for A&M. That place is more laid back and full of beer-drinking baws.

Honestly, it sounds like one of those parody things SNL used to do that was actually funny. I can picture Eddie Murphy doing this as a new stanza of "C-I-L-L My Landlord".

I get frustrated when I receive business correspondence with bad grammar, but I had really good teachers for this stuff (diagramming and all) and I will admit I can be overly critical of writing by amateurs.
That being said, WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR LIVING WRITING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, then "Yes", I do expect you to have reasonably good command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
But, by all means, make sure those of us in the hinterlands are continued to be cast "the uneducated rural voters".
