I'm sure all of the people that have been staying at home because of the virus are really going to want to go shopping now that strangers will be walking around without masks.
This will be incredible for business!!!!11

Yeah, I can see KP George getting all upset and trying to impose his own rules. Not sure how the hell someone like him got elected to run Ft Bend County.

Good riddance.
I just bought two nice looking cloth masks after wearing those awful medical ones the whole time.
Dammit

There’s some serious melting by the libs on Twitter about this one...pretty comical.

The issue will come in with the dumb rednecks going to businesses still requiring them and starting shite, thinking they are trampling on their rights in a private establishment.
Can’t wait to see how many businesses allow it now that they can’t be fined by the twit county judge. I’d imagine most will keep it in place to “protect their employees”
Can’t wait to see sporting events at 100%

This post sits quite nicely right below "Houston is first city to record all major COVID strains, new study finds" in my reddit feed.

Maybe that was his plan all along, kill off Houston. Secure his re-election.

Well, the virus has hit urban centers and the communities of POC more heavily than white, rural areas. We all know how the two tend to vote. Mother fricker is literally trying to kill democrats even if it means hurting conservatives. "100 dead democrats vs 10 dead republicans? I'll take that!" seems to be his logic.

I don't know how it's not considered a de facto genocide.

Businesses can still enforce masks tho right?
Yep. And they will too. No different than not allowing bare feet. Especially virtue signalers like sports and entertainment.
While I applaud the move, this won’t be a true victory until businesses and venues actually apply the new guidelines. (If they ever do)

It'll get pushed out eventually, starting in more conservative areas. Service industry and retail workers are not going to want to awkwardly hound customers, and the remaining holdout businesses are slowly not going to want to force their employees to be put in that position.

Me and wife will 100% gravitate to non-mask places. Restaurants, grocery stores, hell even clothing places for her.

Nice work Texas!
Baton Rouge LA where you at???
Lafayette had No Mask Mandates and seemed to do well vs. other parts of LA that had Mask mandates.

Abbott, has decided to reopen Texas 100%. And he’s ending the statewide mask mandate. Effective next Wednesday. Before the general public has access to the Covid vaccine. So now it’s open season. We almost froze to death last week because of these same people. Texas is so swell.

Texas is 45th out of 50 in vaccine distribution but Gov Abbot says to hell with science, its time to open Texas 100%. All this while reeling from the devastation of an energy crisis also caused by ignoring science. RIP Texas should not be trending yet here we are.

Governor Greg Abbott has announced he's re-opening businesses in Texas 100% and removing the mask mandate. TX is LAST in per capita vaccinations. 93.5% of the state has not yet been fully vaccinated. Don't ever let a republican tell you they're "pro-life" again.

Fantastic. And Louisiana goes to phase 3... bringing up the rear as usual in LA. Research state rankings. It is our state's rightful place. But, it is in the right direction. So thank you master JBE for that

Agree. I don’t like the forced mask-wearing by government, but if a private business wants people to continue wearing them, that’s their right. Similar to no shoes no service.
I won’t be one of the ones stirring trouble for those businesses who still require it of their patrons, but I also might not spend money there either if a “free-er” policy is offered by a competitor.
Individualism should be celebrated.

They will until their competition down the street ends their mask mandate, and people choose to go where they don't have to wear one.

I haven't been to a Home Depot or Lowes in almost 12 months.
But, I don't think the Borgs are smart enough to figure that out.
