while i have my complaints about him, we haven't caught him violating his own rules and then cracking back down on people. it's gone on too long, but for sure, but i'm glad we didn't have it as bad as some states.

I'm gonna predict that the MSM finds a human interest story about everybody who 'dies of the Covid' in Texas next week.

To be clear, I'm assuming this doesn't prevent mayors from implementing their own rules, like Houston.

Yea. I’m glad Edwards at least moved forward today. But we all know he’s not moving to TX or FL without party approval.

He said local authorities can only impose their own rules if COVID patients make up 15% or more of hospital patients in a given hospital district. Even then, he said no closures allowed, but can limit business to no less than 50% capacity.

He said they will only be able to put restrictions in place if hospitalizations for COVID in their county go above 15% for 7 days. However the county judges will not be able to close or limit business below 50 %. They will also not be allowed to fine or jail people for not complying.

As others mentioned he gave them some leeway, but ultimately he has final say. He can remove them when he wants, and they have to oblige. He threw them a bone, so not a full band aid rip off.
