My buddy just told me this morning that his company's mask mandate will be in effect until 75% of their workforce is vaccinated.

What's wrong with that? At least they set a firm expectation, even if you disagree with it.

The big problem we've had throughout is not setting tangible expectations.

Not surprising... Turner and Dora were insufferable yesterday shitting all over Abbott.

A large company in TX is saying either wear masks or get vaccinated. I mean, I guess that is fine, but I would never work for them. Just seems a bit authoritarian, no? Considering the state is about to have no restrictions any longer and the science doesn't support masks in the first place. Not to mention, not everyone is eligible to receive the vax at the moment. Lots of young healthy people in the company.

Whoever implemented this for the company, they should be the first ones rushing over to get injected.

That will change quickly when people chose to not patronize those businesses.

Just heard on talk radio (Fox news clip) saying that Target in Texas will still require the mandate and some auto maker.

Guess you’ve never met the owners of Bayou Teche brewing in Arnaudville. They’re pretty much the exact opposite of your description.

Been there, I don't believe they would require masks if the mandate lifted. Most of there social event space has always been outside anyways.

Been seeing a lot of breweries in Houston taking a Social Media stance on maintaining the Mask Mandate at their business. Which is funny how quickly they made it known after Abbot made the announcement.

Good for them. It should’ve been their decision in the 1st place.

I have no issue with that. It is well within their rights. I would much rather see it left up to the business owners than the government.

Pretty sure their signs say “due to local ordinance mask required” so they can get bent if they change it to “because we’re pussies” now that masks aren’t required.

They've set a percentage of vaccination where they will allow masks off at their property.

That's it.

It's also subject to change.

And as you said, if you don't like it, shop your resume or continue not working there.

The vaccine will be pretty much available to every adult by end of May.

It may be silly but many company policies are silly. It will either remain or be amended or dropped. Again, at least they set a tangible expectation. I'm working remote and we don't have a back to the office metric at all.

Businesses can do what they want but you also have the right now to use them

Yep, if it were me I'd list no masks at my brewery and make a killing tonight. Maybe even have a wet bikini contest and sell 300k tickets.

And that is their prerogative. I think most reasonable people merely wanted it not to be mandated by the government.

Businesses dictating what people wear is not within their prerogative. There are definite limits to the power even private businesses can dictate what people wear or don't wear in their businesses. Imagine an Aggie business mandating everyone wear an aggie hat to be in their business.

That is their right.

People are smarter than the government gives them credit for, we can figure this out way better than the government can.

This is what makes America great but just so they know that ANY fricking business asking me to wear a mask when it's not mandated by the government will not be getting my bidness. Especially, if they have a competitor who does not have that same policy.

How long will that hold out when other businesses not requiring masks start booming with customers wanting to go back to normal and trust in The Republic of Texas' Scientists and Leaders.

This is garbage. My own company put out a memo a while back saying their mask policy might stay in place even after the Governor lifted it.

I just walked into a busy hardware store somewhere in Texas. Nobody was wearing a mask. Let's get those masks off already!

At a brewery you can take off your mask while drinking, no? Makes sense to compel customers who are just hanging out to buy another beer to avoid putting on a mask.

Only if you are seated. According to one Brew FB Post.
