Nowhere is it stated that what the attorney claimed was true. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. But it did happen, and it is news.
“Did happen” meaning “was claimed.” Not by just anyone, but Assange’s attorney. I had to add this for those who struggle with nuance.
